Torn

I was torn between a 12 Pro and a 12 XF High Country. Saw the sleds at the Denver show and made up my mind. Here is my top ten list, I had to stop but they kept coming!

10. First year production, I never do it.
9. Plastic oil tank, I can see how much is there at a glance
8. Polaris had me my sled in September
7. Pro has way more under hood room for a bag and a hot dogger.
6. Look at the cool colors.
5. 4 year warranty, are you kidding me!
4. Pro Seat Options Need I say more.
3. Pro has dovetail for add on rack, bags whatever. Drilling a hole in a new tunnel sucks!
2. No Fire blanket on the pro can, I think this will be an issue!
1. Pro is lighter (huge for a big guy like me) Dude look at the rear bumper!

The magnesium oil tank on the cat blows my mind. WHY?? plastic tanks have worked fine for years and plenty light.

there has been issues with doo oil tanks warping and the caps not closing tight enough.

That's doo tho, not poo. And there's several companies that make billet oil caps to solve that problem. So what's cat's rational behind a mag oil tank? Seems over-engineered. Apparently the plastic tank worked too good, had to change it.

The arctic cat oil tanks were notorious for warping around the cap threads. I had the issue on my 09 m8, couldn't get the cap back on.

Unfortunately many of the Polaris tanks and caps are in fact warped and do leak. Mine is one of them and was covered under warranty. Not a huge deal, although oil dripping on your clutch guard is never a good thing.

Thanks for the info, don't have much experience with cats but was curious why they changed to the mag tank.

Could you define "many" cuz I rode with "many" Pro's last season, including mine, and no one had any problems with the oil tank or cap.
