just ran autotune... check out thid weird trim

just ran autotune and i dont understand why the trim came out the way it did.... anyone have any ideas. Im running last jan's flash with slp pipe running 8 gallons 91 non oxy w/ 2 gallons 100LL, wires plugged in.

table is from 3000-9000, 0 - 100% throttle

What are you using for targets? Is the pcv/tps synched?

here is my base map i ran its rich because stoutner said to run it rich because autune will lean it up if necessary but i dont understand why its adding fuel above 7400 at any throttle when these things are crazy fat on top. Targets 13.5, 13 then 12.5 and 12 on top. tps values are pretty damn close.

Your base map is really rich. I typically leave my basemap alone and watch what autotune does with target values of 12-13.5:1.

If you look in the Perf/Mod section, there are a lot of 800 Poo maps already posted and SCarter can walk you through the autotune process.

If you don't have an AFR gauge and some way to monitor EGT's, you will struggle for a while.

Also, what is your engine setup? Boosted?

Just ordered Egt guages im not sure i trust the mid range minus numbers autotune is giving me since every jan map are all positive untill 7250 ish here is my latest map, and the positive # at 8000 and 8250 dont make sense either. slp pipe. No det light

what's your elevation? does your O2 check out for your elevation in the test routine?

This looks more reasonable right? I assume throttle position 1-10 (left to right) and RPM top to bottom. That is a leaner top end and rich in the middle. I think that is what my D8 was setup as when it ran best. Although the 5, 12, 6 numbers are strange near the bottom (top end).

ya i found that really goofy and the first map i didnt have any negitive number above 7500, it just found it really weird that it is taking away fuel at 6500-7000 when i thought that it was the lean spot where i was getting a det light come on at the begining of last year, and no one elses maps like slp and jim dont have negitive number till like 7500 ill have to double check with egt guage i guess.

Have you tried any of Jim's set maps without the auto tuner? I just bought a PC V but don't have any maps to start out with. Any suggestions? I am waiting for Jim to email some but this is all new to me.

Ya the last map was jims jan flash for slp exhaust, what flash do u have? I have mainly maps for jan flash, rich from dynoports and jims stock one also. give me your email ill send u them if u want and have last jan flash.

I get +50 in the midrange and about -7 to -12 up top. It is wierd because it will trip the deto in the midrange with this tune but with the stock map, it will bog but no deto. WTF? (Quote)

I have no idea mine used to bog but no det light, or it would bog and det light, or no bog and det light it wasnt constistant at all, thats y i bought auto tune because throwing more fuel at it just made it bog worse and wanted to smooth it out.

Rick makes a good a couple good points. Are you running the accel pump?

Also, I've noticed AFR's going wacko on decel

I have the jan 14 map- supposedly

stock gearing for a switchback 41/25

dalton weights at aprox 69 grams...... I have to add more im running 8150 wot, so impretty much going to have to start from scratch with autotune.

165-310 spring primary

stock secondary sping w/ dynoport's choice helix

slp pipe,can, and y-pipe

and im running DTR's late jan map for slp pipe 161hp, with there a/f ratio they used to creat the map not running accel pump( should i be? is there a benifit?)

I do mostly trail/lake running with a bit of boondocking and what not.
