Hey all,
After toasting 2 stock bumpers in as many weeks I decided to go with a TCP bumper. Looks great and easy install except for one issue....I did not relaize I had to cut my side panels to fit over the side bumper extensions.:face-icon-small-dis

Anyone have any tips or pics on how best to do this? Just wondering what worked best to cut it and if anyone might have some dimensions that worked rather before I start with trial and error.

The bumper is awesome, you'll love it!! I had the same apprehension when I realized I had to notch my side panel.
I had Tri city install mine but I watched to see what they did. They installed the panel after putting the bumper on and when they got to the spot that you have to notch, they pushed the panel up against it and used a marker to trace around the spot that would have to be notched. So it left a half circle type of mark.
Then they used a grinding wheel with a small diameter on an air compressor and started grinding from the bottom up and followed the line they had traced.
Not sure if I am making sense as I'm not really sure the name of all the tools but... Mine turned out great and that is how they did it.

Thanks for the comment Arcteryx,
HA! I did the same thing. Drove donw to CEnterville and had them cut the panels. Took about 20 minutes and it looks great. Great customer service at TCP as always.

I'm curious how your bumper is holding up.

Bumper is holding up great! And with as much $hit as I hit that says something.
Have you broken yours in yet, lol. I center punched my first (somewhat larger) tree and was glad to see it was all in good shape. I really like how the bumper wraps around the side a bit. It looks sweet.

Couple more, It is all about the bend in the bumper. I have lifted the sled from the sides and there is very little movement, I know that's the first thing eveyone thinks is that it would bend if you lifted there but it wont.

Broke it in last weekend on a few smaller trees. Worked just fine.

Glad to hear that it is holding up. I waffled between the chromolly or the aluminum. I'm still a little worried that a yard yank on the side bars might rip or tear the plastic nose cone. Time will tell.

It does look good and was easy to install (except for cutting the side panels).:face-icon-small-blu

Yah im a lil iffy myself, you hit that bumper with the same force that you did to ebnd the first one, but this time you wil be buying a whole new plastic front end to the tune of a couple hundred bucks and a bumper...remember thats why polaris got rid of all the connections to teh bumper like on the 05-08 rmk models...but def looks bitc*hen!!
