Yet another case of probably our biggest failure when it comes to any military conflict we send our young soldiers into.

When they come home they don't get the care, help, job placement, etc that they need. I'm not defending anything that they did, however I'm betting that there were signs that something wasn't right and the VA medical system is overburdened and cannot support the need because it's bogged down with bureaucracy and red tape. I'm not saying that they all need to be detained and henpecked like Obama wants to do to them, but they need to be able to get help when they seek it.

Then in all their infinite wisdom they want to turn the entire health industry in this country into something like the VA. Yeah that'd be great

If you ask me they should get rid of the VA in favor of an "insurance like" system. Give everyone that serves a card, and when they need medical services they go to the nearest qualified clinic, hospital, specialist, whatever they need and get the services they need. (and by qualified I mean, of their choosing, and where they want or need it) The bill goes straight to uncle sam, of course the billing would have to meet customary standards to avoid fraud, but the men and women that serve this country should be able to get the care they need without having to wait in line PERIOD.

My dad served, and he was a drunken wife beater. Military is not my style, i wouldve gotten kicked out in a week. If someone invaded our country and threatened my family, i would serve. I dont take orders from anyone , especially not the American Government.

Me too. I have nothing against individuals. I just disagree with the "WAR" and have from the start. I am also shocked and embarrassed at the way the US Military as a whole has conducted itself in Iraq.

Well, that'd be nice but it just doesn't work that way, by the very fact that our country is prosperous, extravagant, wasteful, and FREE There are others in this world that seek to do us harm. ie 9/11/01

Other allies have small military forces and depend on us for their survival. If it wasn't for the USA and Russia the French, British, and most all of the rest of Europe would be speaking German and Jew's would all either be dead or living in continuous hiding.

Would you rather we be fighting on their turf or in your back yard, not allowing for your life to continue as normal? Your family safe and sound, or in constant worry of a roadside bomb, or a hostage situation?

thanks for the news flash. This isn't the first war we've been in and it won't be the last. You think war is the only thing that makes people crazy? head on down to the bronx in NY some evening and you tell me what you come up with....I met a guy in afghanistan that had been bouncing between afghanistan and iraq since the invasion of Afghanistan. He told me he felt safer there than he ever did back home (the bronx) And no he was not a poge, he spent most of his time with an LRS team running security for SF ops.

I'am obviuosly canadian...and i think the american military is not perfect by no means, there is a price to pay for war. Mistakes are made.......but name me another country with the strong moral convict to the free world. There is none. They step in and bear the blame and shame of critics everywhere.yet without their involvement this world would be barbaric in the true sense of the word. Ok meat man. I realize the Bronx is bad, thats why I think we should leave Iraq and work on the Bronx. I know this isnt the first or last war, but that doesnt justify the war. I know not all soldiers are bad. 99% are good, you just have a bad boss. Im glad the guy you met in Afghanistan feels safer now, then you guys can come back home to America where you belong in case some one really does attack us.
