Just bought new sled

Hey guys bear with me-

Yesterday I stepped in Yamaha world, purchasing a 2008 apex 1000.
The sled has a boondocker turbo set up running 15lbs, it has a beautiful black cr racing tunnel, very nice cr racing skid and suspension. The track is a three inch ported camoplast track. It has a boss seat, attitude industries fuel adjuster, aem air fuel ratio gauge, pro comp psi boost guage, New cr racing 8 inch riser, New fly bars, New fabcraft oh **** handle, bark busters a arms and more I'm missing. Sled has 2,000 miles with 800 on the turbo. Runs great, can't keep the skis on the ground.

Im wondering what you think the value is of this sled? It's in great shape.

Opinions please?

I picked it up from a buddy who was anxious to sell, so let me know if one of you has a great offer? Like I said I know nothing about these four stroke sleds. And even less about turbos, so I'm not sure if this is the sled for me?

I already have a Couple ski doo big bore 800's

Thanks in advance

I'd value it at around $8500- $10,000. Here in Canada probably less in the US.
I have a nytro with over $40 k into it and I'd be lucky to get $10k for it.
If you want it to perform at it's full potential I'd get a rear skid that can harness all that hp.

Willys- if you had to take a random guess what kind of horse power do you think it is producing?

Sleadheadd- Is the "cr racing" skid and rails and tunnel not strong enough? I looked up the brand and it appears to be very tough, expensive and after market. Is this not a sufficient skid?

Looks like a bark busters front end

Thanks for the responses!

Pretty accurate with pricing. With new viper out value might be less. Just got 12500 out of my full on rc racing Nytro. Only thing stock was motor and plastics. Everything else aftermarket. Boon docker is a little tougher sell in canada. Get whatever you can.

The cr skid is as good as your gonna get for suspension.

On 15 lbs of boost I bet your pushing 280 HP or more. The skid should be just fine. That's a awesome sled especially if your a bigger guy

I'm 240 lbs. Plenty strong enough to muscle, it.
Although when I was test riding it(riding it up a side hill for the guy because he couldn't) I over throttled it and the sled just launched Out from under me. No joke after riding the apex I was very intimidated.

It was at lunch time right after I rescued his sled that I offered him 4k for the thing. He accepted and here we are.

I really wanted to go with a Pro next year but it might just be worth the macho-ness of taking this beast to places my buddies are going on there m7/8s

Is anyone still riding there apex around here in Washington?

Sorry I missed the cr racing skid part, I was referring to the skis in the air part but that can easily be adjusted with that skid.

I would ride it if it was mine. Turn the boost down to 10lbs or so and get used to it. You can turn it up as you go and adjust the suspension to keep the nose down and make it handle. The horsepower is addictive as hell but way different than riding a two smoke. :face-icon-small-ton

Dude that's a crazy deal for sure those cats won't be able to come close to where you can take that apex! And hey everyone has a pro stick with the apex

Ya I am not a hard guy to convince, I'll be riding it this weekend. I looked up how to turn down my turbo that's straight forward, other than that I'm not going to do anything to it before the ride.
It starts right up, idles high at about 2200 rpm's then settles to about 1500. Turbo comes in hard and fast, scares the sh*t out of me.

I will go by the m10 wrench after a few rides once I can tell what I want to change. To bad that the season is almost over but oh well.

Anyone around here know about these monsters and want to get together for a ride? Show me a couple things it would be great. I'm in maple valley wa

Don't use a 2 stroke thumb on that Apex. Drive it like you would a car. Just enough throttle to get it to do what you want. Takes a while to get over the intimidation but you will. Then you'll spend a lot of time waiting for your buddies to catch up. The magnets are to adjust weight transfer. With all magnets in the skid will not transfer. Great for keeping the front down on steep and deep climbs. Take magnet(s) out to get the weight transfer that you want

Great info!
That Makes sense. There is one magnet In there right now, I'm going to put another one in before the ride; after watching him wheelie up the hills.
Turn the boost down check
Drive it like a Honda check
Assert dominance check
