Have all Dragons came with protaper bars?

What year did they start coming with out the big plastic hunks that have the throttle and light controls, like the current models have?

Will an 08 and newer seat fit on an 07 or is it a different gas tank too?

The tank and seat are different on the 08 from 07. The 07 Dragons were the first IQ RAW chassis and used the same tanks and seats as the previous generation of sleds (900's, 755's, etc). I'm not sure which year the Protapers started, but I think it was also 08 or 09.

the pro tapers started on the dragons in 09, the tanks are different before 08..I do have a spotless 08 dragon tank if you need one...

Not exactly. The tanks are different, so I would guess that the plastics that fit around the tank are also different. You can make it work obviously because the RAW chassis is the same, it would just take a few more parts for an perfect match/fit. It would help us if you told us what sled you have and what you are trying to do?

I am looking to purchase an 07 dragon but dont like the 07 tank/seat and like the protaper set up instead of the standard with the big *** plastic contraptions with all the controls.

you will need an adapter to run protapers on an 07...the 07 has a "t top" steering post. and the protapers on the 09 and up dragons use a flat top steering post to mate with the protapers.

Sledless, You can swap out the bars with RSI bars. They offer a bunch of combinations (heights, sweep, grips, etc) that will bolt right on. You can use whatever throttle and brake controls that you like. The tank and seat aren't that different from the later models, but they can also be changed for cosmetic reasons I guess.

I know the tank and seat are purely cosmetic, the 08 and newer just looks better to me. Silly, I know...but I see lots of people changing plastics...purely aesthetics also. I don't feel that the bars/controls are aesthetic, I really prefer them to just be as simple and uncluttered as possible. Yea, I like the RSI stuff. Was just thinking maybe I could find some take off stuff or someone parting something out cheaper than all new stuff, know what I mean.
