Journal Bearing Rebuild ?

Ok, I have a spare center cartridge (chra) that I am working on trying to build a new hybrid out of. The core is a TD05H (same as CPI uses). I bought a rebuild kit for it, everything went together fairly easily.

My question is this: With only the turbine wheel in place, everything rotates smoothly. When I put the compressor wheel on and torque it down, everything is tight. When rotated it feels like there is a high spot and a low spot. The journal bearings feel like they have the proper clearances. Any ideas? My thought is thrust bearing...

Gus, any help here???

I guess my next step is to tear it back down and measure all the components...

Edit:
Found on another site recommendations that it might not be fully seated against the turbine shaft. Turbine seal might not be fully seat either.
