I'm paying good operators $35+, with full union bennies. My seasons generally run mid april to mid oct.

dump truck jobs

I drive dump truck and I was thinking the same thing does anyone have any Idea what a dump truck driver makes and who to contact any info would be great thanks

Operating engineers Local 302 scale is $35.25 hour for goverment/state funded work. Private union work such as the north slope is close to $29.00
Union work is the only way to go up here. It helps to have a connection. If you can run a blade/motograder and cut hubs very well you will have no problems finding a job, and you will make $37.23 an hour we work six to seven days a week, and 10 to 12 hours a day, some times more due to the short season. If your A good hand you will always have a job.

Just wondering what the cost of living up there is...in Mont blade hands make between $25 to $30 an hour. At least I doo. I wouldn't mind working up there but just keep hearing the stories about $100 a gallon milk prices and so on:p.

Do you know Jeff Graham? He lives in Trout Creek and works on the slope here in AK. Flies out of Spokane every two weeks. Heavy equipment companies to look for on the slope would be,
Peak Oilfield services
CH2MHill Energy services
ASRC Energy services
Conam is another company that has alot of heavy equipment guys

This is a bit of a hijack.....sorry, but in NW No Dak you can walk on @ $29 if you have a pulse & can pass a piss test.

Every thing is more expensive up here, gas right now is 4.05 for unleaded and 4.60 for diesel this is in anchorage but I have friends in lewiston Idaho that were just up here and they said the food wasnt that much more expensive.
A good blade operater can make 50,000 to 60,000 in the summer. Can you run automatics ? if so that is a big plus. Also grade checkers that are good and gps certified are in demand also. The company I work for Employees me in alaska for the summer and washington for part of the winter. I can work on the north slope but union work up there is 6 to 8 weeks on and then 1 week off So youll never get time to "snowmachine".

Top Con, and Sonic Master units is what I have run so far, the last few years I have been a paveing foreman, so havent ran a blade lots. The company I work for keeps me busy in the spring and fall running a blade, when the paveing season is done. Dino

sounds to me you could find a job up here no problem if you ever wanted.

when you say blade, you guys talking about a grader or dozer or both and all the above? I've run equipment most of my life and havnt heard someone referr to one kind of machine as a blade.

This damn economy is pissin me off so much, i almost wanna sell all my equipment, move to AK and just run equipment for someone myself..

blade is what alaskan in the construction industry call a motograder are grader, kind of like a snowmobile verses a snowmachine. things are slowing down in alaska also but nothing like the lower 48.

blade is what we call it here in mt. too, have several people i know working mines in the north slope area, they work 2-3 wks on and 2 weeks off, pay is good but the flights back and forth are expensive

union pay is 35.25 for dozer excavator operators if you run a excavator with a 6yd bucket are larger your suppose to be paid 37.23 this is a union rule. And yes alot of people work the north slope that are from montana idaho and other surronding areas most are non union and work for PEAK OILfield services.
