job in round mountain any riding close

You're right in the middle of Nevada. Besides your sled, bring a quad, dirtbike, jeep, etc. Lot's of off-road stuff in that area. If you golf, bring your sticks. Great little course in Carver's, just up the road. As for sledding, Elko is about 200 miles away. Austin and Eureka are much closer. If the storms hit that area, there is enough high country to get some accumulation. In fact, Bald Mtn.(9274 ft.) is just south of Round Mtn. If you have the room, bring some toys. You should also ask the folks you're going to work for, what they get for snow in that area.

Hope this helps.

thanks

going down to start a new drift into the side of a mountain was thinking of trailering my bronco and a machine . i will figure it out when i see what were working i was in fernley last winter til aug that job was month on two weeks off perfect for getting away.

Yup, What Z said.

You will be about sixes as far as getting to the Rubies or the Sierras. Actually, I think that Mamonth and Sonora might also be just as close. It's still three hours just about any way you go.

I've never ridden around Round Mt, Austin, or Eureka. I suspect that access might be a problem, even with a sled deck.

I used to visit the mine alot and I saw a few folks in Hadley had sleds, but never knew where they went.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Austin

When there is enough snow you can come in from the Kingstone side and ride up Big Creek. There is some good riding there.

what machine should i bring

I've got 2 151's a 162 and a 174 . there in my garage online. i enjoy my 174 but im usually climbing st helens which is pretty much my backyard.

Your "74" would like the Rubies(Elko) and Sonora - lot's of vertical. The 151 would be good for everything else. Bring both if you can.

hit the rubies they are a blast if you run a turbo sled hook up with twistedm1 he really knows his **** when it comes to turbo sleds he helped me out for almost a day getting my turbo dragon set up all the people that ride in the rubies will always help you out. hope to see ya on the mt

going to be there for ten months

Depending on the weather, you should be able to ride anything you can see. Lots of great pristine areas around Austin, Kingston/Big Creek should be easy to access.

I live between Eureka and Elko - lots of hidden gems almost everywhere you look. Mostly empty spaces except for Lamoille Canyon and a couple other spots on the Rubies. You can usually expect a crowd there every weekend.

If you are really adventuresome, check out the Monitor range and some of the county between Hwy 6 and Hwy 50 - just bring lots of gas!!

It is almost all BLM or Forest, some Wilderness though but anything you can see, you can surely ride.
