Job employment?

Same boat here. Was in the construction game and had to shut it down 4 months ago. Been looking but it is slim pickins. If things don't change soon I will be forced to move out of my home and sell everything (half of it is already gone) :(

Anyone with engineering degrees that want to work in eastern SD can get a job with Daktronics in Brookings SD. We are in need of engineers with manufacturing experience, have had a few engineering jobs open for over a year.

I'll send you a pm or you can just use this post. You guys in the industrial business need to contact Siemens Corp if your interested in wind turbine work. An average of 10 wind turbines are errected every day in the U.S. right now. They've snatched up all the Iron Workers and Millrights in our neck of the woods but are always looking for guys with pre qualifications. If you are an electrician or a an instrument calibrator your chances are real good. I am an industrial mechanic and have been working on turbine for 4 years wich in the U.S. makes me a senior technician, that's how new these turbines are in our U.S. stride for renewable energy. Get on board. The only catch with Siemens Corp is that you have to be willing to travel to work. Oh, and, you can't be affraid of heights... lol You can go online to the Siemens web site and click on jobs and careers to get some contact information. Here's the link. http://www.powergeneration.siemens.com/products-solutions-services/products-packages/wind-turbines/

If you still have trouble finding contact information I will try and get you guys some contact information. I work on Bonus turbines which where bouht out by Siemens Corp. My company is Energy Northwest and we own 63 1.3mw and 2.3mw turbines so I don't work for Siemens personnaly but we have a Siemens site manager on board as 14 of our turbines are still under warranty. I will ask him if he has a good contact number for me. Keep in mind that Siemens wind power headquarters is in Houston and they are having a tough time at the momment due to the hurricane damage.

Buffrider and all who may be interested

I did talk to our Siemens representative and he said that Siemens is constantly hiring new employees and sending them to Houston for training. He is going to work on getting me some contact phone numbers that may get you around all the BS numbers that are usually listed on web sights. I'll keep you posted. Don't let not being an electrician, or I&C Tech throw you off of your possible interests. It's a pretty cool job other than your office is at 200 to 286 feet on average and you get the privelage of enjoying everything that mother nature has to offer you!
