Jetting where to start.......

I have a 2004 550 sport touring and I cant find any jetting chart. 3 diffrent dealers have 3 diffrent answers.... I ride 1000-5000 10-40 deg. I just burned it down and rebuilt the motor and I am trying to avoid doing it again....any help would be great....

This is an owners manual supplement. Has a jetting chart at the bottom. You can get these from the Polaris website. At the bottom of their website click the parts and manuals. You have to register but they don't send you anything in your email.

Since you are down as low as 1000ft, unless you plan on rejetting when you are up high, you should start at 270/260 with the clip in #3(the middle)

Quite often the fanners will burn up because of heat, not so much lean burndowns. They run really rich to help control the heat. People will jet them down trying to get them to run better and that creates more heat that they can't handle and they burn down. Had a mod fanner a bunch of years ago. About the 5th burndown it got scrapped.
