Could someone explain low end fuel between fuel screws, pilots and pilot air jets? Some run smaller pilot and paj, my paj is .6 a .9 is 3 sizes, bigger sounds like a big jump. Could I run smaller at low alt and open fuelscrews to make up difference? I dont run much in mn but need to make sure it works OK

One idea to check as it was way off on mine, check choke adjustment to be sure you have a slight free play in the cable when the choke is off. Mine was too tight and would not actually allow the choke plunger to seat which made it pig rich on the bottom. Didn't seem to make much difference on the top but it is a small amount of fuel in the big picture. Took me a while to figure it out and it was the answer to a similar problem as you are having.

Also if you haven't already, check belt tension and belt side clearance in the primary. Make sure belt is tight, just to the point of creep or squeal, then a hair less. Best performance lives here. Side clearance makes a big difference too, I set mine at .015" or so on all my Polaris clutches.
Doubt thats your issue tho. Your set up looks pretty good.
 
Rode today to check some of the suggestions others have posted. Choke was set okay. Drive clutch was rebuilt at beginning of season and shimmed for proper side clearance. Reeds, carb boots, okay. Tried using choke, but engine would die. Finally turned fuel screw in - now only 1/2 turn out. Definitely cleaned it up some and was much nicer to ride. Should I try going down one more size on pilot and turn fuel screw back out so that I'm in the middle of adjustment rather than almost bottomed out ? Is there an easy way to adjust fuel screws without removing airbox ? What a pig to put back on, especially on the mountain and not in a heated shop. Thanks to all who have posted or PMed.
 
I don't know how the vari-flow works, but a 390 seems big.

I have an 07 600 155 with SLP pipe and can, 18/43 gears, SLP blue/pink and stock secondary. Cut track, 56 gram weights. Turns 82-8400 rpm on the trail, in cascade concrete, or in Idaho powder.

45 pilots, 340 mains, top clip, 1/2-3/4 turn out on screws. It runs pretty well.

Pacific Northwest, ride 3k to 6k.

Doesn't seem to have any bog to me with this set up.

When ever it seems to have the occassional bog issue, it is usually from the choke cable routing causing the plunger to be held up a hair.
 
I too got sick and tired of the airbox installation. I finally put a screw through the rubber intake boot to hold the lower lip onto the airbox. Now it is a simpler procedure to kind of "saw" the airbox up and down until it is real close, then reach between the oil tank and the steering post to lift gently on the carbs while pushing down on the airbox. It seems to pop right in 8 out of 10 times now. The first time I did it, over an hour to get it all back in place with the boots around both carbs.
 
Vari-Flow basically works on the principle of setting up for the lowest elevation that you will ride. The dial leans it out from the base setting. Mine is setup so that the middle position is approximately equal to a 330 MJ. Top end runs and pulls great. Only issue has been bottom end.

The pilots and PAJ's mostly effect idle.
The fuel screw's mostly effect 1/4 throttle.
