Jaws twins on m1000?

i have them on my 09sp m1000. i never rode it stock so i cant tell you how much of a difference they made, i ripped the motor apart right off the show room floor and sent it to brent lindermen and had the head shaved and ported and polwed and the exhaust ports raised with advanced timing to go with the twins. this is a deadly setup and runs with the pump gas turbos all day long with the advantage of not having to spend huge money on a turbo kit. as far as the pipes go they have some metling issues but most of them can be corrected if you put an after market air intake on deleting the box on your hood.

so after all that how much it cost plus and hp gains:rolleyes:

-port, polish and shaved head with extra base gasket and timing key was 950 plus shipping and handling of the jugs and head
- jaws twin pipes with the race stingers 899 plus taxes
-timbersled air intake 260 plus taxes
-boyesen rage cage rad valves 400 something plus taxes(cant remember)
-boondocker control box 340 plus taxes
As far as power gains its 200-210 horse and works well, this sled is a rocket off the line it produces alot of jam. its fun pull the cord and go power, 1400miles on it problem free now. you run this set up with bone stock clutching.

I just bought a set of Jaws twins not installed yet, Just wondering about the melting issue? I had mine ceramic coated wondering if that will help. Stanowski do you have the Low altitude pipes? I live In AK and ride from 300-3500FT, so I bought their low altitude pipes. I have not seen to much information on these pipes. The direction say to increase the primary weights by 2 grams and add a .060 shim behind the spider, and add another base gasket. Stanowski is this why you raised your ports? Did you also add the double base gasket like they recommend? Is the double base gasket a poor mans fix for Port timing? Thanks for any info.

the ceramic coating will help but the problems i had were the power valve cables where they come out of the power valves, they need to be turned to run between the 2 pipes and you will need to put heat resistant wire loom on them, another issue i had was throttle cable where it looks around the front of the throttle bodies you can put the loom on it or re rout it.if you do not have the head shield over your injectors they will melt your injector connectors also. and then if you put in a air box that deletes the hood intake that will solve that issue.

I did add the extra base gasket and no it is not a poor mans fix once your set up you will love the performance gains. i dont know much about the low altitude pipes i run the high altitude ones on mine. i stongly recomend you give brent a call at arctic edge in hillcrest alberta he knows every last detail about the jaws pipes as he works with jaws doing dyno tuning and testing. you can reach him at 1-403-564-4673 he can answer any of your questions. hope this helps.

i forgot to mention to it is a good idea to buy the relocation bracket for your power valve servo motor that mounts it by your steering post like on the M7s. where they are ran stock they get noticabally hot but have not melted but you also run the risk of your belt blowing and taking our these cables i would know from experience lol, you get the braket and re mount the servo motor and rout your cable along the opposite side of the motor.

brother in law has cutler(jaws) twins, had speedwerx single and head pipe. the twins absollutly stomp th single set up. I feel no loss on the bottom and the mid and top is unreal. Hey, with a 1000 cc's its going to have enough on the bottom. As for melting take all precautions, we header wraped his and put thermo covers on all wires and pv cables,

I have the STM valves, so that’s one melting issue I should not have to deal with. When Jaws were building my pipes, I told them what valves I had and they did some measurements to make sure the STM valves would clear, and they said it should be fine.

I just installed a set of Jaws Twins on my 09 Crossfire 1000 R. Did the extra base gasket and clutching. Also installed the .060 shim behind the spider. They sound great and I can believe how much cleaner it revs at low RPMS..

One question though. I ran the power valve cables between the pipes. The cables already have a heat tape type material on them from the factory. Will this be enough to protect them? Or do I need to completely wrap them with heat tape?

Also, I had to dent my heat shield that covers the injectors as my PTO side pipe would not go on the flange without bending the shield down a bit. I also added two 1 1/2" holes to the stock airbox. Do i need to add more?

Jaws needs to send at least twice the heat tape they include in the kit.
