Japanese riders having fun

fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra...I just about pissed myself when I saw me rikey. Guess I was just in one of those moods. That looks like some awesome snow though, pretty fun!

i subscribed to a few japanese sledding pages on you tube a few years ago. motocross is huge as well.

cf7sp, bwahahahahaha ralphy

what is that ungodly loud thing in that video? the guy that hits the little tree. is it a nytro? it sounds awesome tho

i have always heard that japan gets alot of snow, its nice to see that the sport is international now with all the riders in europe and now add in japan, we are a growing breed.

Love the old 80 something phazers blasting around with the mountain sleds in one of those videos. Talk about work, you really got to keep speed up on those things to get through snow. I say through because everyone knows the old phazer's disn't go over it. Like riding a speeding brick with skis. I remember many a trip being thrown on our phazer, never anything but full throttle or youd be burried in snow getting smacked upside the head for it. I was never so happy when the beast finally siezed up one day.

One more quick observation, minivans and suv's pulling the sleds up the hill rather than 3/4 ton trucks. Some of their vehicls don't way much more than the sleds.

The northern part of the main island is where I learned to ride a sled. We would get an average of about 220 in of snow. This was not the mountain areas where we rode but in the city near the ocean. I had a blast. I also did alot of Motocrossing there. I lived there for 10 years.

Good buddy of mine spent 8 years at Misawa Air Base in northern Honshu (that's the main island). I've been there twice. Both times in early April, both times there was a buttload of snow.

Maybe it's time for the sledders answer to the surf cult classic "Endless Summer"

Endless Winter--some sponsored pros (and me...ya know for the schlubb factor) tour the world chasing the best snow....

Shane Kelly (summit films) and I are all set for Endless Winter I (a sled chronicle). We are just waiting for "the" money from our SPONSHURES! There are a couple of minor:face-icon-small-win logistical issues that seperate the Endless Summer versus the Endless Winter...while our new PRO is light it doesn't really count as carry on!:face-icon-small-hap The back up plan is to win the lottery and fund it ourselves. stay tuned..he h ehe

Misawa is where I spent my 10 yrs. The mountains north-west of Misawa are full of snow. About an hour and half drive (at 40 kph) to the unload spot (near the Shichinohe Ski resort). If you did not get there early, there would be not parking. It filled quick.
