I need the Jan 09 flash for my turbo 800, went to 2 different dealers both said it was no longer available.

Does this mean I'am S.O.L?

Since it has to be loaded with the Digital Wrench program... dealer only... I believe it does.

.

Oh it's available. You just need to give them the part number. I've posted the info so many times I'm tired of doing it. Do a search.

It's not available anymore, they updated the digital wrench and only the 2010 flash and a Aug 09 flash. Which I tried and it doesn't help. It seems the Jan 09 flash is the only one that works.

I've heard that wiring in a toggle switch to the fuel pump is probably the best solution at this point.

I really do enjoy being that guy that holds up the pack trying to get my machine running everytime we stop.

I wonder if you get ahold of the race dept at Polaris and asked Junior if he could reflash to the jan 09...might try it

Mountainhorse do you think they might?

Jim9006. I read your previous posts and seen where you posted the PN. On flashes. Is it really that simple if I have the PN to give the dealer ? Why would 2 different dealers tell me that its no longer available?

I suppose the latest version of digital wrench could have over written the old data or most likely they got a new system and just loaded the new version that didn’t have it and they did not have any backups so the old maps didn’t get loaded. I only know that when I loaded updates to my copy it did not destroy the old data. I still have them. I’d call around to other dealers and see if they have it. If your local and you can get your dealer to send the code that unlocks the ecu I’d do yours if you buy the beer.

Oh, and just so you know I’m using the original ’2010 update (which I believe was the Aug. 09 version) and a PC5. After 3 (or is that 4?) years now, my sled still runs solid. It’s a dam good sled and I have no plans of replacing it anytime soon.

FYI:
The 800 has 3 injector colors (dots located on body of each injector) - Blue, red, Yellow. All injectors should be of the same color.

The 04-15-10 flash number = Blue 4013135 , Red 4013134 , Yellow 4013136

The 01-11-10 flash number = Blue 4013066 , Red 4013065 , Yellow 4013067

Original 2010 update flash = Blue 4012959 , Red 4012958 , Yellow 4012960

You can have your dealer run a "Service Report" and it will list the "Software part #". That will tell you what you have loaded.

ok looks like I can access the map database on my version.. As far as I can tell here are the orignal 2008/2009 ecu software numbers.

red = 4012705
blue = 4012706
yellow = 4012707

UPDATE: Looks like I do have the correct numbers for the 2008 D8 - They are the same as the original 2009. there were no updates from 2008 to early 2009.

FYI: Here the numbers for the NON US/CANADA editions (says here 08/09):

red= 4012730
blue= 4012731
yellow= 4012732

Ya i'm running the Aug 09 flash but it doesn't make a difference if anything it made it worse.

Im running a boondocker turbo and what ive read on here is that the original jan 09 flash is the only flash that works properly with the boondocker turbo kit. Without that flash ill always have that difficult hard to start problem.

Thanks to Jim9006 for providing the PN to give to the dealer for the Jan09 flash and everyone that PM'd me with advice.

I had my turbo out this weekend. It ran perfect, started every time, its a pull and go. I'm no longer "that guy" on the hill with the sled that wont start.
