Making the switch from Cat to Doo. I've rode Cats all my life, everything from the old Powder Specials to the new M series, and always held my own until I blew my 800 MC last winter and jumped on a buddies Rev Summit. As much as it hurt me to say it, that Rev chassis just plain worked. I was going places and climbing mountains I would never have thought of with my Cats...without a shovel and some help. Now I need a Rev. Looking for something from the '05 to '07 range 800 151". Are there any things a guy should look out for? Things that are problems, other than the 2000 mile piston failure? How about some mods that are a must have on these sleds? I'd like it to stay dependable but have good power too. Kind of a contradiction of terms but you get the idea. I'm starting a new learning curve here and just looking to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks

Congratulations! My personal favorite is the '07. They all have their issues, just like every other sled. If you buy an '07 make sure it has a new engine, they were crank eaters that year!

There is lots of info just search through this forum and you will learn all you need.

Congrads on becomming a REV dude, try to find a low mileage 06 and put a ceramic coated can on, and a clutch kit from Dynomoe Joe, and ride the snot out of her, maybe some skis of your choice and you should be good!!:face-icon-small-coo

06

try to find an 06 X. If the Tra 3 clutch is still on it and in good shape, just ride it. Skidoo motors from 03 up have a bearing on the crank that is not lubed by the injectors and they tend to go between 3 n 4 thousand miles. other then that its a pull n go sled if you can find one. even the 06 adrenilne is a great sled but the X will have better shocks and some other goodies and it's also 5 #'s lighter or something. ask anyone,, the 06 is the best bullet proof out of the box sled! :beer;:D

Jig.... I have a 07 Rev 800 R X package 151.. SLP head, y pipe, can. V force reeds, gas can, cover, tunnel bag. It has 200 miles on a new 08 motor. Sled also has the 06 track on it that doesnt trench like the ones on the 07. This sled flat out rips.. All my buddes are riding XP's and they are not leaving me anywhere. Most of the time it all comes down to the hole shot ... Anywho ... i need to sell her. I am needing $5700.00 out of her. This could be the exact sled you are looking for.
