I've got a ten grand offer.

I thought that might be enough for the 1,100 turbo Av. 163'' white wit 700 miles, no marks.
I was going to put the '13 updates, narrow stance, virt. steering. Those and one year depreciation, seems to be worth a couple grand.
The '13 sleds seem to be a grand more than last year, so it looks like it will cost me four grand more to get a new one. That's a lot of bucks for 700 miles.

Never mind, I talked myself out of it.

I think the issue may be that they have alot of old blood. If you read arctic insider he seems to think that there is 1 or 2 guys who make the final call and they have both been with the company since at least the 70's and both have alot of racing heritage. I can see the need for a chassis that will do both. But there are alot of parts that don't need to be shared. That may include different running boards for the proclimbs, different panels different skis to start. The proclimb panels have alot of areas that they are solely made to look cool and at just taking up space. The Tunnel is like three pieces of aluminum? Why? The Mounts for the upper a-arms in the front are steel? Why? There are about 10,000 steel pop rivets on the sled. While lighter than bolts it takes about 5 pop rivets to get the strength of a solid aluminum rivet or a self peircing one. The Spars are flimsily bolted into the cast upper and bottm piece. Make them a slip fit and glue them in. That alone would make it more rigid. Stand on the sled once with the hood off and crank on the handlebars. The entire thing flexs all over the place at the points where the spars are bolted in. Make the sled as rigid as possible it will react so much better to rider input.

The side panels could be cut out like the new doo to get the foot forward if that is something desireable much like brett is saying he likes on the doo. I know dang well that the rider is much farther forward on the doo than this cat. So le the rider get forward to the handlebars.

Ok I am done.

Oh yeah and I have a offer to trade mine for a nytro with a turbo and lightweight everything, and a 174 track. . . . He is asking $9500 but will trade for my sled. I am not so sure.

I think I'll just put a grand into mine.

The 200 horse reflash, better skis, narrow the front, virt steering. My sled looks better than the '13's anyway.

And it still has the new smell.

I might ask myself why he'd even want to trade such a sweet sled.....

SELL!!

I would!!!! Brett's gone, Cat's in the ****er! The worlds coming to an end.

Tell ya the truth I have been anti cat until the 2012s, they look awesome and I like the idea of a decent powered turbo sled from the factory. I traded for the Yamaha and rather have something not quite so radical, My kind of riding doesnt require a 174" 240HP sled so that is my main reason for wanting to trade. Dont get me wrong if I dont sell it or trade it I will definitely have a blast on it this winter !

It is still in my head. . . It has alot done to it. Likely would not change much if I was to get it. Though I may think about some skinz a-arms. The only real thing that is stopping me is that it is hard to trade a 1 year old sled for a 5 year old sled.

It is funny how a bad product introduction (At least a year ahead of when it should have been brought to market, just to make the 50th anniversary mark) can tarnish the brand.

What started out as a revolutionary new platform with lots of promise, turned into a mess barely three months after the snow started to fall and people got a chance to ride them only to find:
1. These things are belt eaters
2. The clutching was set up by a 4 year old
3. There is more heat under the hood than an oven set on broil
4. Skis so narrow, they can easily be confused with spaghetti noodles
5. Reverse, what reverse? The gears got stripped! Nice design! putting the magnet that senses where the reverse gear is positioned right down in the gear case oil where metal shavings build up and confuse the reading from the magnet. A frigging 4 year old would not have designed that assembly in such a manner
6. And on and on and on..........

Cat is and will continue to pay for this with people shredding their affinity for green and going to a different company for their new machines........

Having said all of that though, I love my 1100T, and do not have all the problems that were reported. Sure, I spent a grand to get the sled set up the way it should have been from the factory (38" ski stance, vert steering, new skis that actually float, and a lightweight can), but I love the sled now.

Pretty sure that I wold not love it if I did not make those changes..

And we shall see if the redesigned reverse actually works and is reliable.

Stay tuned.....
