It's Supposedly True....417 lbs and Belt Drive....

:director:I spoke with our local salesman for Polaris and confirmed the rumors. 417 lbs, belt drive, different running boards with the seam at foot level instead of the top of the tunnel, and some carbon fiber parts, too. I asked if his info was from Polaris, he confirmed. No pricing till March. Just reporting what I was told from our local sales guy who has been selling sleds at the same dealer for around 30 years. :director:

Not true until I see a grainy picture in a parking lot of some gas station making it look like a blacked out summit with sharp edges, or a iphone picture of the snowcheck brochure taken over the shoulder of a clown waka waka waka!!

you mean this ?

I hope we can retro fit, belt drive would be dandy.

Wow, talk about market domination. I think Cat took a step backwards this year and I doubt next year will be any better. And I'm a Cat fan. :face-icon-small-fro

I am too, in fact I was hoping to be back on a cat next year. I'd be taking a step backwards with their chassis.
It's too bad poo cant make a sound motor. With the several known blown motors last season, and the few at the beginning of this season I was still staying optomistic. But the several being reported again has made up my mind.

I like how cat now, amazingly makes solid motors. The first 700 twin they made back in the day you had to walk beside till it got going, the old motors use to go like crazy, specially with some black magic pipes and a power breather, they would go every weekend. As well as the first year fire cat had so many issues it was ridiculous. My cousins went back to the dealer like 7-8 times that year. So they took some power out of it, lasted for a few years, then bumped it up to and 800 for a few years, then came out with the HO and luckily on them its stayed together....... The terms cat attack, or cat hands didnt come from anywhere......

Polaris can make a solid 600 and 700, always have, their 800 twins have always suffered, from the VES with the crank problems, and the stupid piston design of the 800 CFI. They tried making a small block 800 and it took some years of tweaking they didnt count on. Im sure they have been working on a new 800 and 600 with some kind of system like the etec and are testing the crap out of it so its bulletproof and then after a first year success they will have even more switching over.

confirmed?

That's what I heard too - 417 lbs and belt drive (ok I actually heard 413) A friend of mine got to do test rides on a '13 a couple of weeks ago. He has a brand new '12 with a stage 4 SLP kit on it and he said as of now it is for sale and he will be getting a '13 - they are that much better. He wouldn't say much other than he wants one real bad. I would assume they must be good if he's willing to lose his shirt on the one he just dropped $2,500 into on top of whatever he paid for it. With the crappy snow year we've had it probably doesn't have over 200 miles on it.

Wish I wasn't putting two kids through college :face-icon-small-sad

That good eh? I remember when I rode the 11 models before they were released to the public and thought how they were just a step above anything else I had ever ridden. If these rumors prove to be true, is there anyone else that is a little hesitant to be the guinea pig on a brand new drive system? I am also wondering if Polaris is getting a good amount of testing in with the low snow conditions throughout the west. Seems like Alaska would be a no brainer proving ground for them. Wide variety of elevations, epic snow conditions, and a long riding season. Can't wait to see what finally comes out, I have some decisions that need to be made.

I am already verbally signed up to snow check hehehehe. Seriously! If it only has what we've heard, it will be worth it.....now it just has to snow next year like it did last year!

Can I get a Hallelujah!?

I should have been more clear... I'm hoping for heated running board EDGES again... Not the big coolers under the running boards like on the Indy.

.

I smell heated running boards again (wink)
.

I WOULD LOVE THAT!!!!!! The running board coolers would be a GREAT combination with the 2011-12 RMK running boards....or something like Better Boards.
I like how VE is still using those coolers. At least last time I looked they were using them.

Nobody wants the XLT coolers anymore. LOL
