This sounds about right since I just told my g/f on Friday that, "I'm not too worried about my sled not being ready yet, since there's no snow in the forecast." I checked the forecast again last night, and what a difference compared to a few days earlier! I guess I'd better really crack down and get back to work!

Ahhh, looks like you're up near C.P., nice pictures! How was it coming up the side of the mountain on that road? If that's the road I think it is, it was real sketchy the last time I tried to go up there to check out the first snow, but that was several years ago. What elevation/how low was the snow sticking?

Man you nailed it! C.P

That road was pretty gnarly, Herb was on the edge of his seat driving his brand new 2014 F350 up it. 14% grade in some areas..... Snow was starting to stick at about 4200(ish) Was definitely lower this morning, then started to rise.

Too bad I work tomorrow. I believe that area is supposed to get another 3" tonight which would probably put enough up there for cruising around the roads.

I did basically the same thing several years ago, went up there to check out the early season snow. It's a long pull up that ridge and the trees on the right side had all leaned towards the road, taking up almost half of the right side. The left side had been eroding from lack of use and was sloped towards the downhill edge pretty bad. It was definitely a white-knuckler, I can only imagine how he felt driving a new rig up there! Glad you guys made it out (and back) though! Thanks for the report!

And boy oh boy is it, what a beautiful rig he's got himself. AND, he isn't a lil baby about it, he monster right up that snow covered 13% grade road with bushes scraping both sides the whole way.

Indeed his truck is VERY nice. Comfortable, nice interior, good sound system, lots of tech, and with 20" wheels wrapped in Duratracs it handles roads (both dirt and paved) quite well.

Quite well indeed, but still nowhere near as good as my 1984 3/4 ton single cab 4x4!! lol oaky, I can't back that up...
