It's litter, plain and simple

Ok, I was out on the mountain today and came across belt debris twice. I'm really getting sick and tired of snowmobilers being pigs in the outdoors. Riding up the trail... "mmm, what's that black tangle in the trail... oh a broken belt".

It's simple really, if you blow a belt stuff the pieces in your seat pouch, back pack, under the pipe in the belly pan, even up your arse for all I care, just don't leave it laying in the snow on the mountain.

I wish it was just a local problem, but I've been all over the West riding over the past years and it's a common thing. Let's clean our act up a bit.

Less impact

Well put sled_guy, we like to say "our tracks don't last", true but the trash does. We better scrutinize ourselves our someone else will, it's our privlage to use or to lose.

Well said! This past week at Brohm Ridge area parking I saw tons of beer cans, coffee cups, and other trash. People are pigs and then they are the first to be surprised when the hikers etc.. call us out on the trash issue. These types of things just give other users more ammunition. I am getting tired of picking up other peoples trash.

...MUST HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING A GROUP OF XP'S HUH?:eek::D

I like the guys who throw out their beer cans! Thats 10 cents a piece here in Canuckle North, 400 more cans and theres a tank of gas!! Woot Woot!

Trash is Trash. I tell people not to litter our backyard. I was riding with some people that a friend invited along, they smoked theirt cancer sticks and threw them on the ground. I asked them politly not to trash our mtns. they picked them up and put them in their pockets. Trash is Trash.

Woodsy the Owl Says - Give a Hoot and don't pollute.

BEER CANS!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I fricken hate the A$$holes who leave thee things all over the trails and the cabins.
You're GD Pigs....pack out what you pack in!

Nothing like White Trash, trashing the white mountains. Pack it in, pack it out. That goes for you yard salers. That broken windshield won't breakdown for a million years.

It is frustrating to haul out others trash but worth it in the long run.

What we can do is hold all the folks we ride with to a high standard, set an example , and clean up after those who do not.

Leave only your sled tracks and always carry out more than you bring in. Some people just don't get it and never will. It's a damn shame and alot of extra work for those of us that do.

I can't tell you how many times I have come across an empty case of Natural Ice on a trail. If we want to shut these off-road haters up, we gotta quit giving them reasons to complain.

thanks sled-guy. well put.
problem is, i think your pretty much "preachin to the choir" here. like others have mentioned, we just need to make sure we set a good example and encourage others we come across on the mountian to do the right thing.
the d@mn greenies sure dont need any more ammo to fight us with!

Most these guys have there mom or girl friends picking up after them at home. So unless you have your mom riding with you pack out your own garbage. Next time you see some one chuck someting out ask them where their mom is.

Today I picked up an empty oil bottle just above the parking lot.

BTW I don’t know if it’s true or not but I’ve heard a cigarette butt lasts 65 years.

We carry trash bags just in case we run across something that needs to go.
Ran across a hood a couple years ago. Still had the sled permit sticker on it.
Gave it to the rangers with my warmest regards to give the guy a REALLY big ticket.

One of the guys we ride with smokes. He has a small sealed container mounted to his bars. He smokes a cig then puts the but in the container. Easy.
If you pack it in, pack it out.
