It took 10 years....

I swore I would do it the next time I had the opportunity and it took 10 years before it happened. I was invited to my sister's for dinner. She had also invited some tie dyed in the wool, enviro-nazi, pinko, sandle wearin' liberals. "Hooo boy," I said when I found out. Conversation was a bit strained...but my sister brought up snowmobiling to make me comfortable. The pinko's wife went home! After a taking a couple of mild digs, I asked the gentlemen, "so you like skiing?" His response was, "love it." Where did you ski last? "Powder mountain," was his answer. "hmmm," I said..."surprising." He asked why? I said that I did not like what it did to the environment. "Huh???!!!" "ya," I said, "Follow me on this." "You are standing on the mountain looking across the way, What do you see?" "What do you mean?" was his answer. I said to visualize...and after a little prodding, he admitted that I guess he sees the next valley. I asked, "beautiful isn't it? pristine, clean, untouched?" He said, "yes!" I told him, "that is where I snowmobile." His brow furrowed. I asked, "do you know what I see looking back?" "What?" he intoned. I see a fuking ski resort, runs clear cut of trees, several hundred horse power, coal fired chair lifts, a parking lot full of a thousand cars, several heated lodges, condos, thousands of people on petroleum based plastic skis all crapping in one place.

silence.....

Thank you for the therapy
