Island Park

Well trip was fun just got home last night. Snow was good, in the trees it was great. The meadows we found had about 4-5 of fresh. Some places had a bit of a crust and then was sugar under that. Saw wildlife every day.

Maybe 4 to 5 snowflakes? Been going to IP since my first SnoJet and this is the worst snow year I have ever seen.

I have seen folks get stuck in 18" of snow. Not saying that there isn't any snow just nowhere near the norm.

Way worse than last year!!!

I got a group of guys coming out from MN the 2nd week of March. If we don't get some good storms they may want to rethink their trip out to IP.

The same time last year (mid March) I was driving back home to Idaho from ND & drove through IP in a rain storm. The snow was the worst I had ever seen with bare dirt showing every where at the lower elevations. I remember calling one of the guys from MN as I drove through the drizzle and telling him what a great idea it was that they had cancelled the trip. Looks like we might have a repeat situation on our hands again this year.

The snow up top is about the same this time this year -vs- this time last year.

It is very lacking. As you drive through West Yellowstone towards island park the snow banks get smaller. Normally I.P has several feet more snow than West has. Does not seem to be the case this year however.

We are going to load up our sleds in island park and head over to Tee-pee area. Have heard that they have way better snow than i.p does.

I will let you guys kn ow what we find out tomorrow.
