Island Park

We are going next week. We have a cabin we cant back out on and I think we are screwed on the good POW we were hoping for:face-icon-small-sad. O well better than the dirt lumps here in ND.

There is always good snow to be found out there. It could dump before you go so I wouldnt worry too much.

This was taken 2 weeks ago on the back side of Two Top approximately 10 - 12 miles from our cabin in Island Park - there is good snow to be found and although nothing much is predicted in the way of snow this week - next week looks like it will produce a few days of snow.

You should be smiling by the time you get here, a series of storms are forecast in the next ten days.

Sweet guys thanks for the info. I am really stoked as I got a new sled and will be the first time I get to ride in good snow, more than 4 inches.

Is the general riding elevation around here 8k-10k ft?

I know town starts out at like 6500 but is two top and surrounding areas generally 8k-10k ft?

I forget the other area we rode.... black hills or black mountains something like that (was my first time there last year)..that seemed like lower elevation at the time not sure?

I rode out there last year with clutching for 8-10k ft but to be honest I was having so much damn fun I never even looked at RPM's would like to be a little more dialed in this year.

I was perfect in Cooke a few weeks ago with my setup climbing at 9800 ft not sure how often or how much rideable there is at that elevation out there.

Thanks

mine is set for 6000-10,000ft and i never look back~~and i ride all of IP~~

2013 pro rmk stock...

I think I'll go back to the 62g weights since the 60's pulled 8050rpm at 9800ft with the ethanol plug and ill run the no ethanol setting this time out (little more hp heard about 50-75 rpm pickup)

Most of your riding will be between 7,000-9,000 feet. There are a few wind swept peaks that will get you over 10k but there are so many rocks showing at that elevation, that you are practically idiling.....

6 days and Ill be there any updates from over the weekend? I know a lot can change in a week for the good and for the bad, but just cerious.

Hamms:

I will be out there the following week that you are (15th-22nd). Can you give some updates when you are there?

Was in IP this weekend. Epic Snow. Great powder on Two Top (if you can find it)
Over the hood up high but a little crusty down low.

We tore up at least three big areas for all the powder that was there.

Ill see what I can do. I dont have one of thoes fancy phones with internet, but ill see what I can do when we are there or at worst Ill do it when I get back for sure.

We went today. Pretty cloudy so light was really flat and Two Top was whited out (surprise) but in the trees the powder was 8-12" on top of a sometimes firm sometimes bottomless base. If you can find some unridden areas (and we did) it was terrific. Down lower is pretty well ridden out so you have to look for your own secret spots. We did find several though, and some right near the summit.
