island park how do you get to mt jefferson

I am headed down to island park, and was wondering where you park to get to mt jefferson? which trails do you take etc? any help would be appreciated.

go out to the shotgun riding area, its kilgore/yale road. drive to the end parking lot and ride back the way you came about a half mile to a mile and there will be an old unplowed logging trail/road you take and it should take you back to jefferson.

My Friends and I will be up there the first weekend in February. I would like some detailed directions as well. Also how about Rees (spelling) Peak?

take kilgore rd to the blue creek lot ride to the top of Reas mtn down to the bottom of hell roaring up one of several drainage's and there you are BRING AVY GEAR !!

Riding on Reas would probably be a better place for you to start without getting yourself into too much trouble. Then we you are ready, head to the top and just drop off the back of Reas (East/NE of the summit there is a popular drop in spot) and you are right at the base of Jefferson on the S side. As mentioned above, don't forget your avy gear.
