2011 Pro 800 - thinking of doing the PAR Ultimate Combo kit (SLP pipe/silencer, PAR cheater head 13.6, Power Commander 5) and Brad's MBS weights, helix and springs. About $1700 + for this. Told that I can expect about a 14 hp increase on the top end and about a 22 hp increase in the mid range. Ride 6,000' -10'000', riding style is aggressive boondocking, sidehilling, hills, etc - not steep long pulls. Any and all input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion if you are gonna spend $2000 on your sled for 15hp you are wasting your money. I would personally spend an extra $1200 and put a silber turbo on your sled. It is a proven product and you can adjust how much hp you want. Idk if you want that much hp, but it is the cheapest hp to cost.

Thanks dyllaboy - if I recall when I looked at turbos, the Silber was around $4500 and did not include clutching, probably closer to $5+K compared to $1700, which led me consider the PAR kit/clutching. Are my numbers off?

I just bought a new 2012 silber kit for 3100 from a SW member and the new kits were selling for 3600 and both of them include everything! I've seen two kits this past week on sw that are being sold for 3000obo and one was also a new 2012 kit. Its just one option.

Retail on all of our kits is $4600

Our kits include complete clutch kits and gauges. They are 100% complete ready to go out of the box.

When will a kit for the 2013 be available?

And how much HP does it add? I dont see it on the page that describes the kit for Pros.

22hp? I don't see that happening. The 2013 Silber snow check kits did go for $3600. I agree that is a better option than all those other components. See if any snow check kits are unwanted.

The 22hp was straight from PAR in a phone conversation. Please explain why the Silber turbo would be a better option. I want a pull and go sled with some more HP than stock. Just trying to find out the best option and get educated to make a good choice.
Thanks for all the replies.

Silber, cost is $4k. Descent fuel at a safe 6 lbs or so is 175 h.p.. No brainer to me. Biggest bang for the simple tuners buck is Justin Silbernagle.

175 or so HP @ 6# boost with pump gas sounds just about right for me and my riding style. The turbo's have had me worried a bit as I just want good reliable power and basically a pull and go. Have had a Mtn Perf SC, an Impulse Turbo and a Boondockers - only the Impulse was basically reliable, but still lost too many riding days with "issues". That being said, the last turbo that I had was 4 yrs ago and I would hope that the technology, etc has improved significantly since then. I appreciate all the replies, thoughts and opinions and the opportunity to gain more knowledge from the guys that have had seat time with these options on the Pro.

Why not port it and not buy the pipe? It Will have more power than your setup posted in first post. I'm porting mine with head and pcv and I'm gonna be less than 1400 with clutching too. Buy used head and PCV.

Sure, I'll explain. I have the PAR head and can combo (far from the SLP pipe with PC5) but I have not seen very big gains with just the head. That aside, you will lose less HP at altitude with the turbo. Being in Utah I figure you are at a good 9k when riding. The Silber turbo is pitched as a pull and go setup but I question that too. I think it still takes some tinkering. I talked to BostonRacing about it and he has had good luck with that setup.

PAR combo 22hp?

SLP states 7.6hp (that's with the pc5) with the pipe. And 5hp top end on the head. Where's the other 10hp coming from? Is that midrange?

It is interesting how some guys have seen huge gains with the head, can, and clutching combo and others say very little gain at all. Something has to be up. I have definantely heard more good than bad about the head though. Having one built for my 2013 600 pro.

A turbo is not pull and go... It requires tuning knowledge and tinkering. For some people they are good at this type of thing, for others they buy a turbo thinking it's pull and go and the sled runs like crap.

Head was a nice little extra HP, it was noticeable but it won't blow the doors off you.

Ive never seen a tru turbo pull the rope and go honestly.
After tuning in for the location they can be consistant but then locations or conditions always seem to change how they run and need a little tuning.
Call Carls cycle performance for another option. great guys and always turn key power and reliability. The kind of #'s you are looking for from PAR seem a little optimistic. Thats not to say the PAR wont perform great on snow. Truthfully who cares what dyno numbers are? its how they work on snow that matters. Ive driven around turbo's stuck with my naturually aspirated motor and at times had them drive around me when there running good. I can tell you in the trees its great for them to run consistant unlike alot of turbo sleds.
Just my .02

Please let me clarify some things on this kit. It will deliver 156hp at peak 8100 rpm. We see about 17 +hp in the mid with the combo. I do apologize when you called I did tell you 22 hp but was referring to our ported combo that I do with the L/R . I just want to clarify that so things don't get twisted around. :face-icon-small-coo:face-icon-small-coo
This is a pull the rope and go deal. The only issues I have ever had is the end user not setting up the tps switch correctly . With the clutch kit that we offer they really are a pretty good setup for the average rider.
