Is this a missing bolt thread ? PIC

I took this pic from the primary clutch direction,, to the left you can see the shieve.
Notice the female thread'd hole. Is this bolt missing,, or is this somthing for elec' start which i don't have. Sled runs good, just not sure if somthing vibrated out/off.:face-icon-small-sho

That is where 1 of the 2 bolts for the SLP torque arm bracket bolt to on the lower case..... Can't say for certain about electric start, never seen a sled up close equipped with it, I would guess they use the same holes.

I am guessing you do not have the SLP Torque Arm correct?

Correct.. So nothing stock went there ? Did Polaris put that female thread in the "Block" for what purpose ?

I guessed on the elec. start,,, i don't have any idea about that thread,,,, just noticed it and usually you see that, and somthing is generally missing.

No need to worry.

I'm racking my brain right now, but I remember reading a post a couple years back that said you can't run both the torque arm and electric start because they are incompatible.

On an electric start equipped sled, the primary clutch has a ring-gear bolted on to it and the starter motor is bolted under the motor in the big air space between the lower engine case and the front of the tunnel, the motor has a short cable on it with a small gear at the end that engages the primary. If I am thinking of the correct starter kit, that short cable would utalize those holes.... Can't remember if the 900 uses a cabled starter or not, I know the newer sleds do. In any case, I am 99.9% sure that was the original design use for those holes.

Electric Starter bosses... this is where the SLP bracket bolts on like Fordguy said... the two are not compatible because the Drive for the starter which mounts the motor on another bracket with a flex drive bolts in the same location.
