Was told they put 110,000 miles on the sleds off the assy line with no vents or any other add ons and had no trouble w/ the 2 injector 800 and it's 2012 compliant and w a 4 yr bumper to bumper plus a guarranty backed by $1000.00 cash you would think they had a good one at last. Heard the tally on the fixes was over 10 mill so far

Im just goin with the regular RMK. Gonna put Fox shocks on it because I'm more familiar with them and know they work great. Probly will hafta do a rear suspension upgrade next spring. Don't care about the Protapers, rather just have a riser.

What they should do is have a better price difference.
A RMK needs to be alot cheaper than 600 bucks compared to a PRO.
Shoulda been like a grand like the dragon and rmks were.
Not do be bias but how is a deal gonna sell a regular rmk when the pro is so close in price. Even tho my opinion is the black on red looks so sick compared to the red on black. I probably will only stock like 2 rmks compared to 20 pros for those customer who wanna beat you up so bad over price just sell them a rmk.

Trevor... I may be one of the ones doing the beating... LOL

But I'll be getting a Pro... Nice having Richie and Charlie in my backyard... Say hey to Scotty if you see him...

Here is the lowdown as I understand it...

Pro RMK has the Pro-Taper bars with the switches for the Display, the grip/thumb heater and the Hi/Lo beams on the console... the Std RMK has them on the bars in the typical Polairs brake/switch cluster...The Pro-RMK has a seperate perc switch on the bars... where the std has the perc built into the cluster.

The Standard RMK uses a pivot style steering post top... the Standard uses a Plate style steering post top

Pro RMK does NOT have the fwd bulkhead tunnel cooler... the Std does.

Pro RMK has the Lightweight, tubular jackshaft and lightweight drilled brake rotor, the std has a solid Jackshaft and rotor.

The Pro RMK has Aluminum, rebuildable Walker evans IFP style shocks with better calibration on the valve stack and light weight springs. the Std features the Ryde FX non-rebuildable steel shocks with the rear track shock having minor compression adjustment .

The Pro -R has a carbon fiber rear bumper tube... the Std has an aluminum tube but looks very similar to the PRO

The pro R has a "Ported" snow flap that keeps the snow flap from being pinned against the bumper... The Std has the same flap without the holes (porting).

Pro R is Red side panels black hood... Std is black side panels, red hood.

The Pro-RMK and standard share the SAME track.

Checked a 163 Pro RMK yesterday, My dealer did not say anything about the
1000.00 guaranty, I took the 4 year bumper to bumper, would that make a difference ?

The guarranty makes no difference even if you buy this summer or fall. I don't understand the taking of the 4 yr cuz will u keep it that long? The best is the 2yr and $450.00 more cash off (700.00 gear) IMO

I do plan on keeping it for at least 3 years this time, but wondering if the two year would not have been the better way to go. Going to call my dealer and ask some more questions on this, like what is covered in the two year compared
to the four year, and about the $1000.00 guaranty.

Talk with my dealer, sounds like the 4 year is the better deal for me, I do not need to buy much in the way of gear this next year and it will cover all the areas that I am most concerned about for the 4 years, and the $1000.00
guaranty is true, and not affected by which deal you take. I sort of like that
as I have not had good luck in the past with first year sleds, and was not planning to buy on the first year again, A little leap of faith this time, hope poo gets this one right.

Anyone know how much an extended warranty usually cost? Just thinking if after 2 years I want to keep the sled and if it is still somewhat stock then how much would it be to extend the warranty. I thought it was like a $100/yr.

No, much more. I think Polaris was doing about $400-$500 for an extra year last year.

Something else to consider with the standard RMK. It has a red hood/center plastic piece. The problem is that piece is flat colored (red or black) and the red looks bad. Like oxidized red and doesn't look near as good as the shiny side red panels.

The 4 year (3year extra) warranty retails at about $1150 for the bumper to bumper.
The 2 year from polaris is a powertrain only.

It was explained to me that the 2 year was actually first year of complete warranty and the second year was clutch and motor..
