Is it possible

Hi guys I have a 05 king cat 900 efi and I was wondering if it's possible to delete the air box and put air pods on the sled. If it is possible what do you do with the sensor in your air box? And what brand do you recommend? What are the pros to air pods and what are the cons to them? Thanks guys

on the 8/900 cat sleds, they have a really effective plastic duct that draws outside air into the airbox from the vents at each side of the cowling by your knees.

by going to pods you will only draw underhood air which is alot warmer than outside air, a step backwards for performance.

Yeah, you can. Just zip ty the air temp sensor somewhere under the hood. I wouldn't though, as stated above, you will be sucking hot under hood air.

Had filter pods on my 05 efi, tied the sensor to the fuel rail. Took them back off andput air box back on ran a lot better, make sure you have all the openings on the air box sealed so you dont suck any under hood air or exhaust, also made a snorkel tube to draw air through the tack opening, some intake noise but the 900 needs air.

For the 900 you want a high volume of fresh OUTSIDE air for good performance. The above mentioned snorkel through the speedometer works, but for a simple bolt on option SLP makes a good cold air intake for the 900s.
