Is it ok to remove a couple of the 09 skid cross shafts?

I have a 06 M7 skid under my RX-1 and I have removed a couple of the cross shafts. I removed the cross shaft between the rear axle and rear shock mount and the one between the front shock lower mount and the center of the skid. I have several thousand miles on the skid like this and the skid has shown no signs of disfigurement thus far.

Now, I was looking at my 09 M8 skid and wondering if I could get away with removing the same two cross shafts. The skid is the same but, the 09 skid had all the lightening holes.

Have any of you removed any cross shafts between the skid rails?

wow i wouldn't be that brave, i'd be affraid of banging something hard and tweaking the skid. the weight reduction to me would not be worth the carnage it could cause...

i wouldent recomend it , bent my skid pretty bad with them in , after i fixed it i added 2 more , the 09 rails seem pretty weak they need the support

Ok, enough said.

Yup, the rails all carved up and holey really don't scream structural integrity, do they?

I will look elsewhere for weight loss.

Thanks

The 09' skid could use another cross shaft for the front idlers. Hit a rock or log on the bottom of a wheel and the rails will bend. Seen one that lit on a log, lengthwise, and it twisted both rails
