Seems like in years past, the turbo hype and excitement was much higher at this point in time. I would think that with the new products available this year, there would be even more excitement.

In years past, this section would be a hot potato....

So what's everybody's plans this year?

Well chit Dave, not all of us are rich like you...some of us don't even get to ride this season....I have noticed that so far this season there doesn't seem to be all the turbo hype there normally is...

I think it was abnormally hot last year because of the excitement revolving around the new Pro. Nothing much to get excited about this year. Most of our customers who buy new every year skipped 2014, So did we.

Yup, the sled is basically BNG.. so the hype of new kits is just not there. I see more interest in guys picking up used kits and sleds with boost right now and saving a few bucks.

I have been seeing a lot more turbo doo interest this season due to the xm being a proven boosted runner and some competition on that market. nothing like the last few years of the pro, but a lot more then standard interest in turbo doos!!

I also think a lot of guys are finding out there is something to be said for non-turbo dependability. Look how many turbo Nytro guys are coming back to 2 stroke Pro's. Sure you don't have 250 horse, but you can ride all day and not feel like whipped dog.

Theres also a lot of information already out there on proven kits for us guys that are looking at them. So there are less questions to ask, and after all the information on particular kit issues how many people are willing to gamble on a first year kit? They are going to research old threads and find most of the information they need, and ask the manufacturer the unanswered questions.

Some of us are also hoping Polaris will come out with something revolutionary for 2015, that will give high hp guys a new option. (come on 1000 four stroke turbo:face-icon-small-hap)

Also the big news on this years new kits, for the most part, was released and picked apart last year. There's now better answeres to anyone's questions till we get them on the snow at this point.

Well, I for one am very excited. I'm doing a Silber this year and I'm pumped. Boston Racing sold me and I can't wait now. I'm very confident in the turbo and sled and just hoping that we have nothing but powder all season. I'm actually hoping nothing new comes out for 2015 from any of the manufacturer's as I'm going to be on my "turbo" Pro for at least a couple years. Pro with a Silber, X1's all around, new wrap and a few other goodies should make for one solid whip!

Agreed this forums been pretty dead wish it would liven up a bit:face-icon-small-hap.... I am excited though, snowchecked 14' Pro and BD turbo with all the goodies through VOHK so it's been long summer lol. I am actually really glad nothing new came this year so hopefully all the bugs are worked out, hoping the new belt drive will be more reliable with high hp.

ya I am getting pumped for the upcoming season. I am adding a water to air intercooler turbo ported roadblock, rk tec pistons, and turbo head. for my 12 PRO and12 silber kit. It should be a solid setup.

when i read these posts it make me feel bad!

guys are just sick of the trash talking and nut swingers around here.

when a turbo kit is put toghether with the right componets and every part is looked at as part of the equation. then turbos are very fun and reliable.

the problem is alot of people have come into the market and not done there home work as to what parts work and what parts dont. they are also just band aiding the problems that come with the pushing of epa and efi controls. no longer can you just take any parts and make them work. you will always find that great products always cost a bit more but make a big difference in the long run.

There is no question as to if they work and how they work anymore. there are no crazy improvements available for the public. That and every other guy on here are internet experts with no real world testing. To bad their sleds aren't as fast as their key boards.

I wasn't really talking about the sleds for '14 (BNG)

I was talking about the hype or lack there-of about the turbo kits this year. With the introduction of the Bully Dog this year, and changes in other companies kits, I just figured there would be much more hype, bashing, locked and closed threads, and other soap opera drama by now.

It just seems a little too quiet over here...Is everybody going soft?

Simple M O N E Y.
Last years snow was late and ended early and was marginal at best.
The economy is in the can.
Around here water was super low and it was a looooong very hot summer.
New sled with or without turbo costs more than some peoples income and insurance for the sled is high compared to a car. Car miles in a year cost, sled miles per year cost.
One of the dealers around here said in years past they sold over 100+ sleds a season. This year they ordered only 20 less than half were snow check.
I can install a turbo on my mustang for less than a sled.
Snowmobiling has got to be in the top 5 for money spent per use.

Yep probably money. Wouldn't mind a new sled but still rocking the 11 with BD kit. Hard to cough up the coin for a new sled when its no better then my 11. So I opted for a Long Rod motor and replacing every bearing on the sled. So basically ill have a new 11 for the 14 season. As far as turbo kits theres nothing game changing imo.

Yep great deals on used sled and plenty of good turbo part to pick from And lots of info.Bully Dog? Sounds cool but now im seeing it pitched with other controllers piggy backed still ok i guess. economy, Rich mans game. Its all dwindling down .

UT must be further away than I'm thinking... I'm headed there tomorrow, maybe the drive is longer than expected???:face-icon-small-hap

Insurance for us is WAY less than for our cars, even where the cost is similar. Here we rode into June, when we expected to stop in april, and our local dealer ordered even more sleds than last year...

Guess it all comes down to personal experience. Some folks quit early, and some folks aren't buying sleds... and some didn't, and are :D

I noticed very few turbo vendors at the Denver Snow Show last weekend as well....so yeah, WTF? You can't tell me EVERYONE is satisfied with their kit and NONE of the builders have made improvements or have something new to brag about. Bueller? Bueller?
