Is anyone working on an absolute fix for the 800's?

Lost the VR or the stator last weekend and in further looking the pistons are in horrible shape.

I have done everything from PCV, to Redline oil, taking very good care of this thing and nothing keeps her from burn down???

Somebody has to have the answer.....:tsk:

This is what I am trying now!

PCV ( with SLP Flash ), SLP pipe and can. MTX weights 68g and blue and pink spring,SLP Coolant bypass (adds more coolant to the mag side) If this doesn't work I will make one hell of a deal on my 09 D8 163..... Crossing my fingers this works... I will be running this new set up with a brand spanking new motor top to bottom. Hope to have it back from dealer by this weekend.. I will let you know how she runs!

That is basically what I have run for the last 2 motors and KAAAABOOOM!

I haven't run the bipass, but I call BS on the need for it. My Pro hasn't needed one yet??

I bet if you put carbs on one it would run awesome :face-icon-small-coo It seems the EFI system is the root problem.

I just got off the horn with my dealership confirming the burndown on my buddies stock 09 Dragon from our ride yesterday only to read this post. I'm pretty sure I now have the solution to this nagging problem. As a rider of an 09 dragon myself, I have been putting tons of thought into this myself. It goes like this. First you are going to isolate your snowmobile from any objects of value, whether it be sentimental or of expensive. Then locate and obtain a box of matches. Having completed steps 1 & 2, remove the gas cap and set aside. In one quick, fluid motion, strike a match, drop in gas tank and RUN. For added entertainment, one might consider dumping a generous amount of gasoline over entire snowmobile before igniting. Once the subject has been successfully burned to the ground, you are going to want to locate your insurance card and report this immediately to your insurance company. Once the check has been received, locat your nearest Polaris dealership and purchase a new Pro RMK. I'm sure many of have thought the same thing and wish, like myself, that they could afford to do this. Good luck folks..............

That certainly sounds like the fix, but how can we be sure? How many sleds have you tested this on? Does this void the warranty? Probably just another gimmick I bet. :pound: Oh man I needed that. Thanks

Oh, you had the fix right to the very end...

Let's see, XLT crank, 800 Big Block crank, 900, 800 Dragon... nope, I would replace 'purchase new Pro RMK' with 'purchase new M8'. The only way Polaris is ever going to get the hint is if we stop buying their next version of crap. I hope I'm wrong on the Pro, but until Polaris can prove they can build a motor that stays together they aren't getting $10k+ of my money.

I'm feelin ya on the Cat idea man. I'm great friends with all the guys at the Poo shop and they treat me WAY good on parts pricing. There is one Cat dealer within 3 hours of me and They are huge. I hate huge bisiness. On the other hand, I ride my brother-in-law's 08 M1000 Sno Pro 162 w/ slp Pipe yesterday. Those 1K's are soooooooo smooth. The power never stops. Its boring power, but nonetheless, its constant, reliable power. It needs a good track, but like I said, Very nice sled. Its also funt you mentioned cat because that was also in my friend and I's conversation. I spend alot of time snoopin around on the Cat section and I dont think I've seen a burndown. Dustin from SLP told me tonight that their 09 M8 Perf Package test sled has 3500 miles on it and it hasnt missed a beat. Their 10' M8 has 2500 on it and it also has never missed a beat. I had an M8 in 07 and hated the motor n power, but I took out dad's 08 M8 farm sled last year and had a blast on it. I instantly fell in love with the Pro I rode. I hope they hold up, I would love to be riding one next year.

96 XLT crank, 99 700 burn down, 800 Edge crank and burn down, 07 M8 no problems, 08 700 RMK 3 burn downs, 09 800 RMK 3 burndowns. Remind me again why I still ride a Poo, Oh Ya, my cat dealer was a total DOUCHE BAG. And I am anti Ski Doo,just because.
