Lots more to come!!

If peolpe have to ask why about a 900 they will never understand anyway!!

TRACTOR'S RULE!!

very nice build:beer;
i did the same thing last year
i replaced the tunnel drop and rolled chain case
made chromoly arms , chromoly steering post ,slp air intake ,slp head,
o6 slp pipe and y pipe , terra alps racing did port and polish with port timing mod.i run boondocker synergy noss (went threw 30lbs last year total) 08 dragon ski's. white lexan hood with lots of vents.ported track 8" rear wheels and extroverts as well,made a rear u cooler , got rid of the slp can and made jaws can with front arm well dump .so that it will never bog now in the very deep stuff.. I love riding my tractor :D
i had over 5500 kms on it and i tore it down and sent the bottom end to indy Dan for a torque master II that is being shipped back to me now.
i attached some pics not that recent tho :beer;:beer;
i will post pics of finished sled later

Bang for the buck best sled out there, IMO... especially if you find one with all the goodies on it.... the issues would be fixed...

Its just a bad rep! mostly from peeps that dont know! The greatest stock sled ever ? NO, But if I had the $$ i would buy yours! I think the 900 Is the most under valued sled out there! Right now 10k will get you one bad azz 900 mod! or you can buy a stock 800 for 12k .I know which way I would go ! I also think the economy has people a bit short on cash right now as well (me too!) so that may be a bigger factor than one might imagine as used sleds are generally not financied !

Right back at yah!!! :beer;
I really like that can set up. Sure makes the mounting for the nos bottle a lot better, and more solid. I'm going to probably keep my slp can and fab an aluminium bracket in the front for my bottle. I love the synergy system on this 900. It really wakes it upo imo. Look forward to seing more pics as you continue. I've posted my rebuild and parts list on the polaris forum.
Thanx for the reply and good luck!! :D

I think this answers the original question best. It's the same thing with RT1000. These forums allow everyone to share what works, but also allow the bad-hype to devalue a sled. The mfgs. overproducing something, flooding the market with new, cheap, leftover models also cause the resale to be in the toilet. Right now it seems, that nobody is buying anything unless the deal is a steal. It's kind of funny to me that I see edge chassis sleds for nearly the same price as 900's.

no kidding, i got me a rt 1000 this summer, 2 grand in mods, and i got it for 3500, it has 2500 miles on it, all the updates done, and has been a strong runner for the last guy, but nobody wants these sleds, i dont mind tinkering. and a 180ish hp and a 162 for 3500 aint easy to come by, you can barely find a decent rev for that price, even if its an 600!! bone stock!!

It beets a Ski Poo any day. At least I won't have to replace the motor every 1000 miles. So far this thing runs like a champ. A few bugs, but all said and done it's always fun to wrench and figure stuff out.

I almost forgot about the 900 polaris, it is the one sled that eats more belts then the XP. I had a few friends that wanted to pay me to steal it, burn it or jump it off a cliff, but instead they paid me to carry extra belts for them instead!!!!

Nice!!

We can discuss at the top. :D

(If you make it!! LOL)

Some might say I am crazy, but if I had the money to buy a newer sled, I would get a 900. I think they are a killer sled when tuned right and that can be half the fun. But thats just me talking.

bought my sled last year had to put upgrades on it asap, but loved it rest of the season and putting more on this season. Anyone try simmions II on theirs yet?

05'-08' Polaris Bumper Retro

I've posted pics and an explanation for my new bumper design for these models of sleds. Please check it out on the Polaris section under the 06' 900 Rebuild thread.
Thanx

I rode A 06 900 in 07 put the pipe head reeds and re-maped
was A awesome machine after that and you won't loose to many races even did very well against A 1200 psi not bad for just A piped sled. just like the yammy's put enough power under the hood and the weight is not such an issue anymore

Like it was mentioned on a previous post, I got tired of trying to defend this sled on this forum.
I let the talking be done in the steep and deep... IF the 900 is setup well it will be hard to beat.
