IQR A-arms on 2009 dragon

Somewhere between too dumb to quit and flat earth
Last season, i loved how my RMK handled after i replaced the shocks and skid. A problem i had was that i started bending a-arms from jumping.

1 a-arm from polaris for these sleds is like $160. So.... I wanted something stronger and wider...but didn't have alot of cash. So I got ahold of a whole IQR front end (ironically off my old IQR racer i sold lol)

You can get whole front a-arm set ups for around $200 or less used. The downsides are that they are heavy and are wider. Hope this helps someone. I will hopefully be able to give a handling impression in a week or so if it keeps storming!

You are bending a-arms from jumping? That seems so unlikely. You must really huck your sled. I bend a-arms all the time but it is from hits on rocks, stumps, etc. I would think you would be blowing shocks out.

It's not like one jump= a bent a-arm. I think the repeated abuse over and over again just weekend them up. I only had one broken a-arm and it happened when i was climbing a hill and touched the ski on a downed tree. Very little force was put on the arm, the carbid simply skimmed the tree. Anyways it broke my a-arm. But i replaced another a-arm from it being bent (enough to chip all the paint away and mess up my tow in/out) and when i was trading my a-arms; i noticed that the one i just replaced already had a bow in it after 2 rides and no wrecks/collisions. All i did those two rides was hit some epic jumps. (epic enough to bend the cross shaft in my ez-ryde)

There are better options out there as far as a-arm replacment over OEM. If i had the coin i would go with Z-broz a-arms and spindles. They would be close to as strong as thease and be half the weight. But if money is tight, and you are looking for a way to replace the junk factory a-arms, here ya go.

Good info. I had the Holz arms and really liked them. Made my D8 stance a tad wider and I never bent them. I don't go that big (maybe medium :) ), but they held up to a lot of bumps and hits. I've heard good things about the Zbroz stuff too.
