Interested in boss noss kit. Dual stage or single ?

any suggestions on how to clutch a nitrous sled ?

This is the very reason I gave up on the idea. You basically have to clutch the sled below the peak power RPM's to compensate for the RPM increase you get when on the bottle. Otherwise you will hit the rev limiter. The pro runs best at 8250 and the limiter is only a few hundred RPM above that. If you do a search on here you will find info on nitrous.

The way it was explained to me was you hit the button when you are losing rpms to bring you back to your desired rpm to gain back track speed.I did not reclutch my dragon to run the noss.
If you are interested in a boss/noss system I have a used one I will sell it is the new system 60 hp shot.
Call Boss and talk to them they are very helpful.

Thanks guys, I just talked to the guys from boss and they said to clutch for around 7800rpm, then when you hit the button you should be around 8400rpm. He said you won't notice much performance loss when running off nitrous but I'm not sure about that one ? I still don't understand what the difference between single stage and dual stage is ? Isn't hitting the button twice on a single stage the same has a dual stage, for about 500$ cheaper for the kit. Also I've seen the 2.5 pound bottle mounted under the hood of a pro but has anyone been able to fit a 5 or 6 pound bottle under there? And finally I know it all depends how much you hit the button but typically how long will the 2.5 pound bottle last a guy? Sorry for the 50 questions, I'm a virgin nitrous guy

I clutched my 700 dragon for 8250 to 8300 rpms and on a long pull it would start to lose rpms in deep snow so you would have to turn out or get stuck so thats when I believe you start hitting the button just before that happens.Same if you are coming around a tree well and need a little more to get your track speed back up for the climb hit the button.
I only used mine a couple of times it was just to much hassle getting noss and wondering when it was going to run out. I went with a head instead no more worrys if I donot sell it it will go on my grass dragger.

I would throw that idea in the trash ive fought with nitrous for a few years its just not worth it!! save the $ and run a pump gas turbo if u want that kinda power! Ive been through a lot of motors because of that stuff alls it takes is one lil thing to go wrong and youll cook a motor before u know it Ive been around a coupple of different kits and watched the same thing happen!
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!! Not trying to rain on ur parade just trying to save u a bunch of $$$$$

Cr 187 do you have any experience with the boss noss kit? Most articles I've read say that the boss kits are 100% reliable. Is this not true ? My first choice was to go with a Silber turbo but my problem is I ride at mostly 2500 feet and make a few trips a year out to bc at around 6000 to 8000 feet and I'm worried about running a turbo at low elevation. Im also a little shell shocked from blowing 14000 grand on a new assault and don't know if I can afford another 5000g for a turbo, I don't think my gf would like that idea either ! She thinks 5000g would get her a nice engagement ring :fear:

I went with that kit just because they said that. clutching was a pain u will feel the 700 rpm loss till u hit the juce and u cant be on it all the time I cooked 3 motors in 1 season! I would talk to silber he will take care of u!
The gf thing Well she will get over it mine did! u might half to sleep on the couch for a night or two but it will b worth it! if u start cooken motors ur gona spend more $ than a turbo will cost ya

nos

i would just go with the boss noss system wouldnt do it on the pro tho, i have the boss noss 90hp shot and used it the past too years on my 600 rmk, run over 120lbs of nos the past 2 years on am moter that has over 10k miles on it never touched the moter, i would defanetly do it on a 600 not a pro

You sir, are doing something horribly wrong to go through 3 motors in one season... :suspicious:

nos

the 600 is a very durable motor and you dont have to worry about hittin the rev limiter, when both my 600 where on the nos i was jumpin to 9000-9200 rpms, no messing with clutching, with the pro you cant have best of both world you ither sacrafice rpms when not on or if you are not clutched you will hit the rev limeter, just save and go turbo, or call brad and get the power addiccion head.

Well dam, now I already bought the nitrous kit and don't think I want to put it on now. A 600 rmk with a 90 hp shot would be the ultimate sleeper sled hey ! You should race 800s for pink slips ! I think I better start saving for a turbo I guess. Anyone know if silbers turbos are available, or would a guy have to wait months to get one ?

You are in a long line of guys waiting to get their kits that were preseason orders.
