So, I just got back from the dealer and they just used the E-Start harness, makes it easy and makes it so the battery gets recharged too.

Thanks for the update. I'm too stubborn and cheap though. I will figure something out when I have time.

Update?

Anyone figure this out yet or find someone that is selling a kit to make this happen? If I had known that I needed E-Start for this guage to work right I would have ordered it when it was FREE!

The plug on over structure next to the brake disc on the right side is where the e-start harness plugs in if wanted to you could use small battery wired to the molex plug for the gauge, and tap the plug by brakes for charging the battery, the red wire is the one that would be charging battery on e-start model. Down side is you would need a switch or unplug it at end of each day as it wouldn't wired through key.

I decided to just make small jumper from clutch side to connect to battery in the shop for updates and fiddling around with different settings, on the snow oh well it doesn't take it long to boot back up.

Also to do the e-start harness you need the whole $100 and some odd dollar kit to make it work with the key. In the kit you get the harness, solenoid, and battery cables I believe. Last I checked to buy just the harness was unavailable till further notice unless you buy the whole kit starter and all.
