Insurance on Mod sleds

With all the high dollar mod sleds running around out there does anyone insure them for all the parts you've got into it? Do insurance companies even offer something like that or do they stick to the "book value"? I've seen some wedgies and Gen 2's that have well over 10g's into them and probably "book out" for $1500.

I guess to put it in form of a question.... Can you insure a $1500 sled for $10,000 if you have receipts and pics to back it up?

Be careful with what you tell them. I tried to get my TApex insured for the value and as soon as they heard it had a turbo I got dropped!!!

I'm still looking for a company that will insure it....:(

We have ours insured through Nationwide with turbos all around, insured for value of sled whatever that may be as they depreciate plus approximate value of parts. This is mostly for theft purposes. They have a exclusion clause if you are involved in racing, competition or unreasonable dangerous activities kinda thing.

Unreasonable dangerous activities huh...good thing none of us do anything like that:D

OH NO, I wouldn't think of it! Safty first! As for the turbo, its really not for the power, just looks cool huh! Thats exactly what I thought. I will have to say that Sapling Thrashers sled is the best looking apex I have ever seen!

Sap,

Give Craig Robinson a call at Integrity Insurance...never questioned the parts or boost, only asked what it was worth, or how much I paid.

425-422-7244.

Plus, he's a sledder and a really nice guy (until last year, he always had a booth at the puyallup snow show and supports the sport).

having mod sleds for years and being insured by pemco for auto and home, i was never able to get insurance because they dont know how to write it. my wife works in the industry and just got us insurance on our harley and all our sleds. cheap!!!!sleds are insured for actual cash value (blue book) and includes for no extra charge, $3000 in additional equipment. on my turbo, i paid alittle extra for more added equipment.very reasonable, infact ive got my harley insured for market value + $15k in additional equipment and i think im paying like $85 yr for the additional $15k in coverage.it seems our company
allied ins. is agressivly pricing their atv insurance and motorcycle right now to steal the buisness away from companies like progressive, which as many of us know, is the worst insurance company on the planet by far.....worth a look to switch to allied, and you wont have to move all your insurance there to get these rates....mm

I will try Allied and Craig today,

I want full disclosure so that I am not paying for insurance that will not be valid if I have a claim and they find out it has a turbo.

Thanks for the info!

I went with Foremost for my Turbo Apex and they will cover up to 15,000 with out looking at it and after that amount of dollars they need to come aprraise it. Progressive sucks they wanted 3,000 dollars a year for my sled, So I talked to foremost and they said no problem just told them what I had into it for parts, money and time and they said its coverd as long as it is not race or used for competition.
