Insurance on a Turbo Apex

Well I just got informed from my insurance agent that I have had for 20 years that as of November of this year they will not reissue my turbo sled policy.

I upped my coverage and gave them all my reciepts and that started a huge roller coaster of calls and forms. They will also no longer cover my 2 million umbrella unless I sign a form that states that if the claim has anything to do with the "turbo sled" that the umbrella doesn't cover it!!! What a crock!! I have my home owners, earthquake, life insurance, 3 rec vehicle policys, 2 car policies and tons of specific ryders with them for other items.

I am pretty annoyed at the moment. Thinking of moving all of my policies!!!!

Any one had any luck insuring a $big dollar turbo sled for actual value?

I need a :beer;

Mines insured for $20,000 full coverage for $484/year. My truck is insured with the same company (Co-operators). If your company won't cover your sled, you need to move everything to another company! Here, have a :beer;

I have all of my stuff insured at the Co-operators. $385.00 a year full coverage on the sled. It's insured for $26,000. They said if I come in with an appraisel they will up the value at no extra cost.

Here in BC where insurance is sssooo cheap I am paying only 950.00 for $20,000.00 the most they will go, :eek: but at least they will insure a turbo:face-icon-small-win

B U L L S H I T !

I've been getting the run around also, kinda a pisses me of i spend 20+ grand a year with this company and they wont insure my nytro what a crock, i've now had to have a mechanical inspection(of a brand new sled) and had to sign a sworn affidavit that it will not be used in competition. I'm so pissed off at all this bull **** i'm ready to just drop the insurance all together and hope for the best. why is it so difficult to insure a high value sled, 20 grand is not that much anymore the insurance company's really need to re-evaluate there numbers and jump into the 21 century.:confused:

Its not the value of the sled that bothers the insurance companies. Its the turbo:eek:

Insurance

All depends on what you want to spend but if you have a 20,000 to 30,000 dollar sled then this is cheap I just got a quote from Stone Insurance for $1850 doesn't matter what is done to the sled the company they deal with cannot refuse you or anything so here's there number if you guys are having trouble getting insurance through your companies (780) 836-3061 talk to Dwayne Stone I have everything I own with them and they also sled as well so they now what needs to be done for insurance. It doesn't matter turboed or suparcharged they take anything.

Same thing just happened to my brother. Called insurance company told them he wanted to insure sled for $15,000. They asked why he would want to do that as his sleds value was only about $8,500. He told them that he has extra goodies he wanted to insure and was willing to pay for the extra coverage. They told him the same thing as everyone else on here, keep receipts, have a dealer verify worth, blah, blah. Pays for coverage now for 2 1/2 years. Pulls bonehead move and finds none movable tree. $9,500 damage. Insurance company willing to pay low book value of $4,000. My advice is to get everything you are told in writing.
