Installing better boards

I am installing better boards on my 06 RMK 900.
The boards wont sit flat because of the dimples. Do i drill or flatten them?
Do the boards sit behind the doubled and riveted toe stop. If so i will have to grind the board at the rear to slide it back enough.
If i grind it how much clearance should there be between the board and the coolant tube.
I tried to call B.B. but i guess there closed today.
Thanks Rob

Can't remember the bumps on the boards getting in the way after you cut out the boards. Stick a hammer underneath and then smack them on top should flatten them.

Thanks I will try that.
Mine need to have to have the rear outside ground off to fit back that far.
Do you think that 1/8 clearance is enough from the coolant tube.
Thanks Rob

Position them just about like shown in ZMAN's photo. You can slide them forward or backward for tighter fitment depending on how wowed out your currect boards are. I have seen guys put them under the footwell support but I just put them like ZMAN did on my installs. Grind, pound, or drill out any dimples (usually a few up front and a couple in the back) that are suspending the boards above the flat base of your running board. Also drill out or grind flat any factory rivets that are in your way. Cut out one major hole under all of the evactuation/cleat area leaving enough of your existing board to get a connection between the Better Board and the existing running board. (usually 1/8th larger then the Better Board holes). clamp drill and rivet the base in place first working from one end to the other one at a time and I normally do the outer edge first. Then do the iinner edge if you are putting rivets along there (some do some don't). Then push or force the board up if necessary to close the gap between the L support and your tunnel. Start at the front and drill then rivet the L to your tunnel. I normally use 5 rivets on this section. GO RIDE! (2 hour install on this model is normal for most guys)
