Injurys and close calls.

..... I've seen that Nelson Tours rig up there, (speaking of injuries and close calls) how do they get that jalopy across 8 states without getting it impounded? You should post a picture of that truck, makes your arm x-ray look like a mild contusion!

Are you sure it was Brian Nelson's rig? The tractor, if that's the right term is a 2002 Kenworth, ( I have done some electronic accessory work in it for Brian)
and the trailer was custom designed by Brian in 1993. It has 3 levels, and can hold up to 32 short track sleds. Now days with long tracks and riser bars he can't haul as many.
Brian used to race for 'Cat back in the 1970's and 80's. He is a very organized person, and quite particular about the condition of not only his personal sleds but his semi as well.
Brian and I have been friends about 25 years. I'm 10 years older than he. LOL.

Go to his website and look at the thumbnail pics. There are some shots of the "hauler." among the many Togwotee shots.

Put it this way... My user name is Gimpster for a reason.
I can fill these pages with stories.
11 broken knees
4 broken wrists (one is plated)
3 broken arms (right elbow is pinned)
2 broken sternums
Knocked out my teeth
Honestly, I lost track of all the broken ribs
Punctured lung
Bruised heart
Artificial eye lenses from flipping so wildly brain tried to exit the eylets

Not all from sledding, most from competiton events

In revy on june 1st 02 my dad was folling 3 of his buddies along a ridge and they drop off the side down to a meadow, the hill looked like it rolled out to the bottom and looked steep from the top so way they go over, gets stepper and stepper and the first guy goes off this 60ft cliff cart wheelin, the next buy goes off lands on the first sled, snaped the tunnel and tottaled them both, them my dad came of and pinned it not like the other guys that nose dived off and sat down witch was a bad mistake and also had a 5 gallon gerry can on the back a 00 700 rmk with a 136 track and he landed sitting down and crushed T-12 and L-1 in his back.
then the last guy came off nose dived it and broke his rist, sliced his head open from one ear to the other and all 3 were KO'ed for bout 20 mins and my dad couldnt move. theres more but to much typing and no time!!!

Different tractor for sure than the one I remember. The trailer was like that though. When I saw the rig a few years ago it was missing a fender, bumper, etc. and they were replacing or repairing about a 20' long drive line in the parking lot.

i have rode with brian nelson when he was going to west yellowstone. his tours and equipment is 1st class. it's probally a canadian tour you seen. LOL
