I am gathering a little info about ride areas across the country. If you want to help, post the following info:

Ride area Name

Town closest to it

Parking area name if it has one (or more)

gps coords of parking area if you have it. I can look this up also.

Any comments you have about the area.

I am working on a project that may be of some use when it is done. This so far is for the US only.

Thank you to anyone and everyone that helps!

Surely someone has some favorite riding areas :face-icon-small-coo

im sure i speak for the vast majority of SW users when i say there is no fricken way am I posting gps coridnates to my fav riding place. if i was u i would look into the major riding areas, boulder in revy, rabbit ears, whistler, all those kind of places.
the reason my favorite riding areas are my favorite is cause no body goes there.....good luck!!!!

I'm not asking for any secret spots. I wouldn't ask that from anyone. I was asking for parking areas which in my opinion, would probably be well known. GPS coords isn't necessary either. I can look those up on my own. I'm just looking for riding areas to compile my list.

So far I have been to and like the Snowy Range and to RE. Again, I don't want the honey holes or anything like that. I'm sure anyone's favorite areas are well-known and have maps of them. I just am not familiar with them and would save me a ton of time if some of us would take a minute and post one of their riding areas.

So mine would be like this

Snowy Range
Centennial
GreenRock Parking
and if I had coords to greenrock parking

^^^^^ That's all I am really looking for. Again, no honey holes lol :face-icon-small-hap

(I showed you mine, now it's your turn :face-icon-small-win )

This is easy, I'll give up the Grand Mesa. One of the largest and finest riding areas in the state. There are tons of honey holes and you could ride up here for 10 years and not see it all. There is parking at the FS visitor center and we also have a lot of people park here at Thunder Mountain Lodge. Check us out at thundermountainlodge.net.

No problem...SW MT

It's a toss up. What riding do you prefer?

Wolf Creek Pass, CO has more steep and technical areas and generally has awesome snow. and some bigger drops from what I saw when I was there earlier this season.

RE/Buff, CO has piles of technical boondocking and tons of short, steep pulls, lots of open meadows and rolling hills. Parking is a b*tch at times.

Crested Butte/Irwin has some of the best all around riding in the State, it can provide you with whatever you want.

Spring Creek, Co is pretty small but extreme. More of a locals spot, not a destination spot.

North-Central CO is pretty sweet but pretty far off the beaten path

I don't know squat about the Grand Mesa. I have heard both sides about that place. Some love it. some hate it.

Grand Mesa is pretty big. Is it divided in to different areas?

The Mesa is one huge mountain. Over 800 sq. mi. The west end gets the most snow as a rule. TML is about 15 miles east of the far west end. You can ride from lands end all the way east to Sunlight Ski Hill at Glenwood Springs. That's what makes the Mesa great it is huge!
