Info for fellow rookies

Hey all, I hope this helps, I know it would have helped me, being an east coaster sent to the west for work, and NEEDING a sled.

1. pick a sled that can be serviced locally (I live on vancouver Island, and own a POLARIS, 200$ for ferry&gas to mainland, plus service fees)

2. Make sure you check the sled over with some degree of confidence,

i. check all the fluids ie; chain case oil, injector oil, coolant.

3. obviously have a look at the track when you do this.

4. immediately order or pick up a gallon of oil(s) to keep on hand at all times. I got shafted, and the sled I bought (from a dealer) had little to no effing fluids in it, and me being a keener, rode it almost retartedly within dangerous operating levels.

5. make sure you do these obvious steps, because if you dont, you may end up costing a lot more than your sled.

6. BUY at least 2 spare belts, just because your belt looks good, does not mean that it is not wearing out. mine looked great, but slipped a bit on takeoff, and an expensive clutch job could have been avoidude by getting a new belt.

hope it helps although its obvious.
