So far i am amazed with Indy Dan. I sent him my blown 800 for a long rod rebuild.

He received it tuesday morning and called me wednesday early evening to let me know it was done. Now that is fast turnaround!!

Excited to try it out this winter.

Im pretty sure he has some already built, so all he has to do is tear yours down to see what he needs to charge you to rebuild it. Example is if he has to have the cases welded or not. Either way that's awesome. Saving some cash now to send mine out to him, should go ahead and start pulling it so im ready

That could be, he said he had cylinders on the shelf ready to go. My case had 2 holes in the bottom and a chunk out of the upper half by the intake ports. He said he fixed my case but I guess I will see once it gets back.

Super pumped to have a newer chassis and long rod engine too boot. Never rode the stock motor though.

Nice. yeah my motor went down last ride of the season this year about 50' from the truck after a very nice last ride. Couldn't really have asked for a better time expecially since I had planned on the long rod this summer anyway.

Good deal!

I have to find out about par heads aswell, mine has one with 36.5 engraved on the domes but not sure what compression it is.

Not sure if there is any fuel map changes that are good to do for the 2011's?

So i did some reading and it looks like the 36.5cc domes are the 13.6 heads for 5-10000ft. I ride lightly at 1500-2200ft (flatlander) and then mountains at 3500 (trail head), 5-8000 mountain.

Dan said the motor is right at 0.060 squish.

Looks like i will need some race fuel down low and maybe a touch up top just for fun.

So i am new to this pro chassis and engine, here is what i have planned so far:

Sled has venting, carls clutching, revalved shocks, powerclaw track and has the blue injectors.

I plan on installing the Doo remote t-stat "$28 fix" and need to replace reeds from collateral damage when motor grenaded. Changing fuel and oil filters would be wise.

Anything i should be looking to add to the list?

A little fuel in the midrange.

My long rod motor with par 12.5-1 head would go into det limp mode with stock mapping.
Octane will help for sure.
Also i put the updated yellow injectors and matching reflash.
I can vouch for indy dans clutching also it flat out works.

At what altitude? He said mine would probably det some especially with a fresh engine and to just put the stock head back on. I don't have the stock head though so race fuel it is I guess.

So the yellow inj. Are worth doing? Do I need to get the reflash done at the dealer?

I am coming from an 03 rmk so this efi is new to me.

my PAR (13.6) head DETs alot at 5500 and up i had to add some race to stop the DET problem the dealer ran my code and it DET 29 times on one the mag side ! ha ha 2 gallons of race no more DET i think you wont be happy with that much comp. ratio
2cents
good luck those long rod motors are sweet

My take on these engine is that the Race Fuel is best and most possibly the only way to avoid DET issue. Couple of gallons per tank. I just installed the Long Rod and am looking forward to getting it back on snow, I think we will find it is a stronger motor than the stock Polaris engine given the tighter build tolerances. Some members on here say it runs with a SLP stage 3 kit. I like being able to gas and go without mixing fuel, but that is me. Looking at what you have you look good to go, I think you will like this chassis, playing with the suspension adjustments can make a big difference in how these handle. The $28 upgrade is not a fix for these running hot on trails, they have limited cooling capacity and are built for the powder. Enjoy

Derek, We also sell different compression domes that you can just replace the domes we have 12.5 and 13.1 domes that work for the elevation you are riding.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Hi brad, I forgot about changing the domes.

I may just go with the 12.5 dome and leave it that way. That would be similar to stock but a tad better I think?

I guess i am asking will i have det. concerns at 2200' with the 12.5 par domes or the stock head?

If you are looking for a stock head call Mark at CMX. He has lots of them. If you can find an '08 head you will be a happy camper.

What's different about the 08 head? What years of head will work?

The 08-09 head was a higher compression head. If I remember correctly, it was around 14.0 ish to 1.

In 2010, Polaris lowered compression to 12.5-1.

I would install a stock head (2010) or go with 12.5 dome's. A power commander with your package would be a huge benefit.

The mapping and timing of the Pro (even stock) is just to close to the edge of octane requirements and air/fuel mixture in lower altitudes. There are many reports of DET issues with even the least amount of modifcations. A Power Commander will really make your package come alive.

Thanks for the info.

I might just do that, 12.5 domes and the pc programmer.

The '08 is a good design compared to the German WWII design. You have to cut .022" off an '08 head to get it to 36.5cc.
