Beware with me, Im trying to post pics, have next to no clue. Sled is a 03 TRX1M, rebuilding it from the ground up. Got rid of the cpr header :frusty:, put on an Impulse header. Its kinda of cross of mcx/impulse setups. Intercooler is mcx, used a msd fuel pump mounted under the intercooler, also put the fuel pressure regulator under there. The plumbing from the turbo to the intercooler came from vibrant, Impulse sold me the header, downpipe, turbo support system, oil system, air filter housing & 90 degree adapter. I know its an outdated sled, not as cool as nytro! but its paided for & dont have to spend 25g building another sled for the amount get to ride.

162/16/2.5 track, Avid 7t drivers, 20/42 gearing, magnesium chaincase cover. Was a good deal on the track, had couple rides on it, guy upgraded.

Had to replace the cylinder head, it was cracked in alot of places. Found a used head from Sk, as Yamaha doesnt seem to have any new ones. Then Chuck from Lakeside Motorcycle Services ported the head, etc. The motor was built with Carrillo rods, J.E 9 to 1 pistons, Arp head studs, Grave motorsport valve springs, APE cam tensior & cam adjustable sprockets, topped off with a magnesium valve cover. Block was re nikasiled also.

Then got the what I think is the best header out there, Impulse. Yes they dont make RX1 kits, but the RX1/Apex are pretty much the same sled. Header is held on with Stage 8 fasteners, no more falling out header bolts. I ran stock, norlock on the cpr/powderlite header, they come loose, fall out, blown out gasket.

Engine is back in the sled, bulkhead is cut out for the header, got rid of the hump in the top of the tunnel, added to the stock heat shield, wildchild rider forward shaft.

Alpine ntyro fuel tank, mcx intercooler, went with mcx intercooler to clean up the plumbing from turbo to the intercooler, making it all on the same side. The cardboard was just for sizing, had a piece of stainless steel cut, just no pic yet.

Other things I have taking from different year sleds, 05 got magnesium valve cover, magnesium chaincase cover, then put on apex rad & fan. Guess I removed weight, then put it back on. Oh well, extra cooling wont hurt. Im just going to turn the fan on whenever it needs it in low or hard snow conditions.

Need to thank alot of people, M5/Paul for showing that it could be done, Mountain Mod/Murray for the seat, cowling, hood, Impulse/Paul for the header & stuff, Alpine/Julien for the tank/fuel pump, Lakeside Motors/Chuck for the engine work, Chris Banser for the tunnel/a-arms & being a good friend, Darren @ E&S for rebuilding the work shocks, Mountain Machies for the rail ext's & wheels. The guys that sold me the track/intercooler. Also have to thank Fuji for putting up with all my dumb phone calls, cheers Randy!

Nice job how long till she hits the snow, looks like you've been spending alot of time in the shop like me:face-icon-small-sho

Looking good. I really miss mine. Pi$$es me off everytime I think about it in fact. You'll love yours and you won't believe the difference between this and the CPR setup.

Paul you are not the only one - it even pisses me off overseas:mad2:

You rx sled was my big inspiration to build my own tunnel. That sled was a "piece of art":amen:

cpr, thats funny. Its way better right now not running than that kit. The header would break if you even thought about starting the sled. Thanks for the comments, hopefully have it running by end of month. Only get to work on it 1 day a week or so, taking awhile.
