Impulse Nytro quits after 10 seconds

I've got a 2010 Nytro running an Impulse turbo. Had the sled for almost two seasons now and have had nothing but problems right from the start. The latest is that it quits after running for about 10 seconds. It fires up fine and idles, then just quits and shows no code on the display. Even if I keep it reved up just below engagement, it still quits after about ten seconds. I thought some part of the fuel system may be partially froze up, so I brought it in to the garage for a couple days and tried it again. Still does the same thing.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Have you talked to paul? He knows his system better than anybody. Definatley sounds like a fuel problem. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

The install was done at the local Yamaha dealership in town. I haven't changed the fuel filter on it yet since there are only 900km on it. Some thing to check and rule out I guess. Haven't talked to Paul yet either, just wanted to see if I could get some insight from some of the guru's on here first.

Some of the 08 had tps noise that would cause the sled to stall during idle, to fix the problem you had to ground out the tps to the negative lead on the battery. A possibility, i had to on mine and a few others, i know yours is a 2010 but a possibility. I would talk with paul though, he will get you squared away.

Sure your making oil pressure and its not shutting you down because its lacking? What fuel box you runnining?

surge tank fuel pump relay ? mine went on me was stalling, however no consistency to it.

I haven't comfirmed oil pressure, but there are no warning lights or codes that come up when it quits so I assumed that wasn't the problem. I am running the standalone fuel control system with what I was told was the lastest update (from Paul) to the fuel controller.

GRINreeper: So yours would fire up and run for a bit with a bad fuel pump relay? Where does that relay hide out?

on my sled, the relay is mounted on the bracket the holds the intercooler on. (right side of sled if sitting on it). its roughly the same hight as the lower twist lock nut of your hood...on the right side.

at first the relay would just stay on key in or out. eventually it would quit here and there. i installed a switch to apply constant power manually. and thats only because I needed a quick fix to ride, and since then I have neglected to order a new one.

so does it take 10 second for the computer to shut it down after no oil pressure. mine lost all of its oil last weekend think it went out the breather on top of oil tank but it did shut down. just my luck in the deepest powder ever nytros are a pain to tow.

I was checking a few things last night and tried firing it up again, now all of a sudden it is showing error code 30 which is what a few of you were saying.... low oil pressure. There is lots of oil in it, so I am hoping it is just a bad connection to the sensor or the sensor itself and not the pump. I'll let you know what I find!

My apex has done this twice to me now as well. It pops up error code 14 i believe. I figured it was the cold we were riding in those 2 days. You start it, runs about 10 seconds then off. does this over and over and over. I found that once its doing this. walk away for about 5min then try and it usually starts and idles then. Will run fine the rest of the day.

Turns out the oil pump drive chain piled up. It didn't break but it came off the drive sprocket and was chewed up and in rough shape. Also wore into the guide. Everything else looked fine, even the sprockets. Kind of odd...

I couldn't find any reason why, the only thing I can think of is that I had the block replaced buy the dealership last spring due to it cracking and they might have kinked the chain in the process. It just took a while before it failed.
