There was a few issues with the older fuel only standalone systems, every box that has the updated download the customers have been more than happy, have yet to have one complain.
Now the new true, full stand alone that is available replaces the whole factory wiring harness and ecu. Like any high end drag car, sled, quad etc the only way to get everything out of a motor is to have full control of timing and fuel delivery. We can run more timing down low to help burn high octane fuel for big boost. Dual maps so you can have a pump/race gas. the system is always correcting for boost, temp, alt etc. We can also run hotter coils, launch control and soon be able to plug your smart phone into it!
Just like anything it comes down to what you want to spend and what you want out of your sled. For us running higher compression, ported head,cams 30lbs of boost , I would have anything but a full stand alone controlling it!
