I'm building a '13, 1,100T

The Cat dealer insulted me as to trade-in for my '12, so I need to build my own '13. I like the changes made. I need the 2.6 track, the virt. steering, and narrow front. And while I'm at it, 200 hp and better skis. I'm thinking Simmons.

Should be just right.

With the vert post, 38 stance and 2.6 track you are at least $2000 in parts. Add labor to put all that stuff on and I think youd be way ahead to just buy a new one. Youre dealer must be way low balling you. Plus with all the other little upgrades the 13' will have.

not sure on price for the vertical post... but the A arms should only cost $200, then you should be able to get something for your arms, the track should only cost you $500 net MAX... is the vertical steering really $1200???

I think you were smokin when you shoulda been in math class max:face-icon-small-ton :face-icon-small-sho

The sad part is my dealer wants $4500 to trade.
But then in the next sentence he said I should buy my parts from him.

38" for a while now has been $400 so net might be $200
Vertical post and track net might be $1100, think there will be a few used take off 2.25" out there so you might be happy getting $500.

It would easily be over 2k with installing.

Simmons???? IDK:face-icon-small-con, Racinstaion did a really good write up on the skis he put on his 11hundo turba. I ridding the eight and put the powder pros on mine and will never look back but if you really want simmons i have a set of black and orange gen1 i would let go at a reasonable price

Four to five thousand dollar depreciation is kind of hard to swallow, a third of the list price! Now, what are these guys talking about with the labor cost? Doesn't anybody own a wrench anymore? The dealers in Canada must make service calls to the creek bottom behind the big ridge!

I had a really open convo with my dealer about trading a one year old sled. He said he hates to do it because he knows he blows people away with the trade in prices. We were talking about M8's but the numbers he gave me made perfect sense. He had two leftover 12 m8's that he could sell at 10,300. So to take in a trade and make it make sense he really can't give more than 9000. If he prices it at 9300 he makes 300 to carry the sled over the summer and thats it. And at that price you run the issue of every person that comes in saying "well for a grand more I could have brand new" Its tough to trade in a one year old anything.... whether it be car, truck, or otherwise.

2.6 may be $1100. But you can get a 3 inch camo for less than that. Also you can buy a 2.5 camo for $690. Also The pricing for the 38 kit is well worth it. It was a no brainer before at $200. And the vertical steering is no question well worth it. Shop around and find a good deal.

As far as skis the 13 is going to come with crap skis again so if you would go 13 the junk skis would still be there. So thats $500 you will need to spend either way. I put Ski doo Pilot DS skis on mine and am going to try that. Geo claimed they are better. I am pretty sure that anything is going to be better than the 6 inches that it came with. Not only to narrow but a poor design.

Also Changing the track, vertical steering and a-arms is not at all hard. I think if you can put a stupid shelf together from IKEA(which most women and small children can do) by reading the instructions. That you can do the work on your sled.

I was talking current retail price. The PC 162 2.6 is about $1200, 38" stance $450 and vet post $250ish. Can you get the parts for cheaper, probably. Can you sell your old parts, if they are in decent shape. Can you do the work yourself? Problem is, sleds are way to expensive and depreciate way to fast. For three trips a year I would do the vert post and be done. That will be your biggest bang fir the buck

It is just money. . . I am toying with either a big chute turbo kit or cutting an extensive amount of weight off the sled.

Ahhh, decisions decisions.......

I can tell you 60lbs off the M1100t is like a different sled as you might expect, can only imagine 100lbs. Our M8 with 100lbs out feels like a toy. Conversely a Big Chute 275hp kit is about half the price, and hp is never a bad thing. I'm taking the middle road, 40lbs and 300+:face-icon-small-hap

Got to be honest, I haven't ridden the new PC, but for that kind of $$ I can't see why you would choose it over the new CE... that track is unreal. Best track I've ever run in a number of conditions, and 1/2 of that stated price.

Oh & MAX... MAYBE you were paying more attention than I thought!! :D

im pretty sure they only changed those 3 things, they didnt really make any ''little'' upgrades. kinda pathetic on cats part imo would be nice if they fixed their gas tanks.

Big chute turbo kit is the best $2000+ you will ever spend on this sled. I have never smiled so much in my life while riding.
