If snowmobiling was banned what would you do?

So there are about 40 of us that will stand up and say FU to the man and there laws if it were to happen that way. That is good to know that i am not alone. My idea was to stash the sled in the trees and snow shoe from the road to the sled. It's not like some x-country skier is going to do citizen's arrest on me and my sled, try it forest fairy he would be treated like a small tree and mowed! Then snow shoe out and drive away. or the heli sounds good too!

figure out a way to haul a few firearms on my sled and keep riding. If I'm already gonna be an outlaw for riding, might as well go the whole nine yards.

Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

Believe it or not. I'd go back to school and get a environmental law degree. Then I be the greenies worst enemy.

- I'd make sure every RS2477 road was open to snowmobiles.
- I'd work with the state to make sure state land was open to snowmobiles, and easements were open also.
- I'd sue to ensure that there wasn't a single snowcat skier, or heli-skier allowed anywhere. That goes for the xcountry skier's little skate ski trails. No more groomer for them.
- I'd strap on skis and dump garbage everywhere, then take pictures and show the world how skiers treat the environment.
- I'd start a campaign to sale all the "unusable" national forest land, to pay off the national debt and turn the pubic forest into 10 acre ranchettes.
- I'd run for congress and cut the Forest Services funding.
You ever wonder what trumps the endangered species act, international treaties. I'd start a carbon sequestering and green energy power international initiative to cut down the forests and bury them.
- I'd sue the forest service every time a forest fire started. Global Warming.
- I'd use the endangered species act to close every last ski course in this country.
- I'd get raft and kayaks out of the wilderness areas. That goes for planes, horses, manmade synthetic fibers,
- I'd buy a harley with the loudest pipes I could get by with.
- I'd organize a snowmobile meeting on a Senators front lawn.
-I'd inform everyone that the fine for riding on private property is nothing, compared to public land. So, piss off the private land owners. It worked back east.
-I'd find every bit of dirt I could find on the greenies.
-I'd organize mass rider protests in wilderness.
-I'd bury the forest service in paperwork.

If you can't share, expect to lose your rights too.

Yep.

I bet most people on here would be happy to pitch in and help pay for your environmental law degree. I know I would:beer;

Yep.

Wade for president.

As for me, I'd still ride. All of the FS employees I've run across where I ride don't look like they could outride my grandma. That and they're loaded down like pack mules.

I am curious if it were banned who would say the hell with that and still ride, or who would not ride and fight to re-open sledding, or just remember the days of sledding? or whatever? You know my answer, I will be riding!

If it was banned all together it would be a hard thing to simply just do. Kind of hard to hide riding in a way. But if areas continue to become more and more locked up I bet I would be looking for another line of work and my favorite winter thing to do (grooming) would be obsolete without sleds. Hopefully that won't happen when I'm able to ride and able to be employed. Winter would become rather boring for me.

good responses! How about a bit more, if they took away 50% of your present riding area, would you still ride the area often, every once in a while, never, just whine about it or fight it.

Myself I would careful when entering and exiting this area but like it was said before the FS but have their big girl panties on when they engage in the chase! I hope they like tight trees!

They wouldn't have to find the sled, just the tow vehicle.

ride ride ride !!! u are in the deep woods they wont find the body till summer if ever !!!shoot them burry them and take there sled for a back up !!!!!
mike:D

You sneaky bastard!!!:D;):beer;
I'd do the same thing I did when they banned dirt bikes behind my cabin at Lake Cle Elum, WA. Keep riding and make sure I go on a weekday. When they banned dirt bikes, there were deputies out on the weekend to take enforcement action.

They were never there on weekdays and after people quit riding, they are no longer out there at all. I can ride from the door of both my house and cabin, so there is no issue of LE waiting for me to return to the snowpark. Of course, sleds leave tracks, so that makes it easier to find us than it does a dirt bike sneaking into a closed area......In the past, I've been known to take a tree branch and cover my tracks when going into my own private trails that I didn't want the general public to know about!!!

Wow. What a violent group we are. Wait till a tree hugger see's these posts. We're really going to get a bad rap. Headline Reads:Nazi Sledders threaten to kill Forest Service.

I thought they were already banned or condensed into a very very small area anyway. Where I'm from they've been banned from some 360,000 acres near my home. They've only left approximately 1,200 acres for me to ride in. The legal riding has become somewhat of a cluster on a good snow day (thank god I'm a people person, ha ha). The feds were kind enough to leave us millions of acres of sagebrush to ride that is all well below the snow line, go figure!! Alot of the locals around here really seem to enjoy the sagebrush:confused:

Hypothetical question "If snowmobiling was banned what would you do?", hypothetical answers.

The killing talk isn't helping the cause, but if a greenies wants to take something out of context, he's got plenty of threads to pick from.

Wade, i like the way you think.

I'd like to see someone stop me from sledding.

i say that we just start diggin up dirt on any of the legislators that propose anymore garbage. or judges or greenie lawyers for that matter.

i think its hi time we all start pushing back. we've stood idle too long.

fight fire with fire.

I would ride forsure, One thing i heard there talking about doing if they catch you in closed areas in Montana is taking vehicle(sled, atv, dirtbike, whatever.) That would hurt if they took your new sled or dirtbike. Like said before the chase would be on.

I might even dress to look like FS, imagine 200 sledders dressed like FS, that would f them up so bad!
