There sure is a lot of Obama/Mccain stuff on here. Mostly complaining (I'm guilty of this). So what I want to know is what would you do?

My answer to my own question

1) Work on a reasonable war exit strategy. The war, in my opinion, is the biggest problem in the USA.

2) Work toward not spending money. I really dont like buying bullets or paying someone who isnt working.

3) Try to keep the govt out of the way of capitalism. Why must they screw with it if we're a capitalist society? Income tax law is a good example of this.

4) Divert funds from the "war on drugs" to rehab and education.

5) Create a reasonable immigration process. (dare I utter the word amnesty?) I've been in construction for years, that probably explains this opinion. If you think we don't need the illegals, you are dead wrong.

6) Allow snowmobiles in wilderness areas. Of course we'll all say this.

Thats all I can think of right now. Dont argue with me, just share what you'd do.

Good opinions of things to change.

For me I think the welfare system needs to be overhauled. It in my mind is a money pit in a half. If we made the people that are able to work that are on welfare do something to earn theirs checks ie. Clean parks, pick up trash, mow the city parks, shovel snow in the winter. It would do 2 things they would realize either they can work for the gov and not pick up a free check or they can go out and try and get a real job and pick up a check. Either way they are starting to contribute to our society instead of being a parasite on it.

7. Reform the court systems nation wide. I do believe in the protection of the innocent and no innocent person should ever be incarcerated. On the other hand, the criminals have more rights than the victims. It is absolutely ridiculous how attorneys have messed up the rights of the innocent for the protection of criminals. Make sentences and punishments that will acually deter someone from wanting to break the law.

8. Political Correctness and Affirmative Action have gone way to far. It is simple, treat everyone fairly and equally.

9. Taxes.......We are being taxed to death. A national sales tax could work, it would make the government dependent on our economy and eliminate the income tax. If I don't have the money to buy something then I don't buy it. If the federal government doesn't have the money, it still buys it and then raises our taxes. The IRS could then police the government, not the countrys citizens.

10. We have the most powerful military in the world. Countries are free because of our military. This country bends over now days, and takes it up the rear. The American dollar is weak, because our government allows it to become weak. We need to tell these free loaders how it will be, if they don't like it, tough sh!t.........

I was making a post about the subject of the thread. Maybe if more people took things a little more serious then there wouldn't be the problems that everyone b!thes about. That would interfere with everyones "me time" I guess.......no wonder why the worlds going to sh!t.

The Federal Government could only collect sales taxes from businesses, abolish the IRS. States could only collect income tax. Cities could only collect property taxes.

Remove the influence of lawyers from the legal process. Make it so that binding arbitration is preferential. Have 5 percent of the judges kicked off the bench every year, by their peers. To be replaced with fresh ones. Make it so that people have an incentive to butt out of other people's business.

Capture big shipments of illegal drugs (the hard stuff), poison it, and release it back on the streets, with a clear warning.

If your on welfare, you have no right to vote.

Taking responsibility - It's not the tax payers fault your dumbazz moved into a flood plain and didn't buy insurance. Don't cry that you lost everything. You had the chance. I say the government offers a ONE TIME ONLY buyout of people in any type of flood plain. After that your on your own, no more of this feeling sorry for you. When i was house hunting a few places i looked at where in a flood plain and i instantly wanted nothing to do with them. It's just common sence. Same with new orleans, DUHHHH!!!!!!!
