Idle adjustment

Where is the idle adjustment on an 04 Summit Rev. I am idling at almost 4000 rpm and need to turn it down. Not sure why it started to idle so high. It normally ides around 2800 rpm. Anyone have any idea why it just started idling so high all of he sudden? Where should it be idling at?

should a single adjustment right on top of the carbs if remember right. star shaped knob

It should idle between 1600 and 1800.

I found the adjustment screw backed it off but it did not change the idle speed. It is still idling around 4000 rpm. Could it be the carbs just need to be cleaned. I have only had it out once this year for a short ride. When I summerized it this year I fogged the engine. That was the first time I have ever done that. Could that efffect the idle somehow?

Clean your carbs and install 20 pilot jets. Also inspect your carb boots for cracks They are know to crack on 04 05 models, When this happens it causes a lean condition which causes high idle and eventually a burndown if there cracked really bad.

my bet is cracked boot, I learned the hard way with a blown engine. I kept turning it down and turning it down. They are very notorious for the cracked boot.
