Idaho Riding sub sections.

I would like to see your input on seeing Idaho are in subs sections like it says.

Island park
McCall
Priest Lake or like SW spells it. Preist Lake
Bear Lake or as we know it Preston.


I think it might be nice so as when you want to go to a certain part of the state you could just go and see if any riding update are available. I receive a lot of call on how the snow is it would be nice just to go on and see what has been posted.

Beat me too it. Was going to ask what major areas we should do conditions for and do a sticky for those 4 or 5 major areas. McCall, IP, North ID, Preston, and maybe one or 2 more. I know there are more small areas than those but it would cover the major parts of the state and keep them at the top.


Also something else, Just a heads up on going threads in the area sections are being asked to be locked and then a new thread started for the same thing. Apparently the long on going threads mess with the server. IE 08/09 Island park would go for the season and then it be locked and a some one would just need to start an 09/10 thread. Personally I have no prob with the long threads , like the one that is here in Idaho, in fact I think they are great places. But just a heads up that this is what they are asking us to do . So if that big boy gets locked, don't get pissed just start an 09/10 thread and keep right on rolling with it. The old thread will still be availible to search just not post in.

now that i have had more time to think and bubba helped me put this into motion. If you break the state up into N. SW and SE sections with the salmon river the middle divider and Stanley, sun valley down to snowville the E/W divider this will pick up all the little area not in the major riding sections and give them a home instead of letting them float out into space.

Instead of just Priest lake I would use North Idaho. Priest Lake is a very small piece of the riding areas available in North Idaho. From Coeur d'Alene you can ride many places in an 1.5 hr drive. North Idaho would encompass Priest, Roman Nose, Pack River, Trestle Creek, Smith Creek, CDA Mountains, Lookout, Burke, Bloom, St. Joe, Clarkia, Elk River and probably a couple that I am missing.

Just a thought.

Instead of going to sub forums for parts of the state I would lean twards the sticky approach just because we already have to dang many sub forums on SW. Last thing I think we need is to make the idaho section into an even bigger cluster F.

I say leave it as it is. One persons north idaho might be someones central idaho etc,etc. There is enough sub forums already.

Tim I agree that we need to keep it simple. I also think we need to have one specific thread for the major areas. Last season for example at any given time there was usually 2 or 3 threads about IP on the first page.

I really don't see the need for this whole sub forums approach. Leave well enough alone. I have really grown to enjoy the forums over the years and don't like the direction we are heading. Admin asks for suggestions and feedback, however they continue to shove all the new changes down our throats regardless.

Hell the spokohomo thread covers most of northern ID and it's not even in the state.
